It was so refreshing to stay out at the Red Rock Resort. We'd stayed in Vegas a couple of times before, always on The Strip, so it was nice to be away from the craziness and see a little bit more of the place. The free shuttle was very reliable. At the airport I think we had to find an elevator to go downstairs from the arrivals/baggage hall and we just asked a helpful attendant to find where it would pull up. You can't miss the red shuttle though. Times are on the website.
The rooms at the resort were GORGEOUS: Stylish, modern, spacious. The bathrooms were huge with a shower and a bath and there was a tv over the bath. However, ours didn't seem to work. We had a Strip-view room which we chose because we stayed over New Year's Eve and kinda new, that with an 8 year old we wouldn't be on The Strip at midnight to see the fireworks. They were pretty impressive even from our distant viewpoint and would have been sensational up closer. But at least we had a quiet night, uninterrupted by revellers. We were on the Strip earlier in the day, but returned to Red Rock on the last shuttle of the day at around 5.40pm, due to the strip closing at 6pm for the festivities. We had dinner at Red Rock at the Yard House.
The were lots of other great eating options at the resort. We had an excellent burger the first night and Mexican the night after new year's eve. For breakfast, there is a foodcourt with a Starbucks which we had out by the gorgeous pool area. New years' day we saw a move at the resort's cinema, booked our daughter in at the Kid's play club for an hour and went Ten pin bowling that afternoon. Overall, a great place, I think for a family holiday or romantic getaway. Very stylish place.
Room Tip: The views of the canyon I think were also gorgeous. I don't think you could go wrong specifying...
