“Not wheelchair or scooter friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

I stayed in Grandview's Daisy tower over the weekend of 2/10-13. Although the room and grounds were very nice, the property is not wheelchair/scooter friendly. There are only 4 handicapped parking spaces per tower, and none have extra space set aside for chair lifts. In addition, several ramps from sidewalk to street are blocked by cement planters. Small pool areas will definitely not accomodate all guests in the hot weather,

Room Tip: Do your homework on where you'd like to stay - pool areas vs. near casino vs. far from everythin...

We are so sorry that you found your recent stay at The Grandview at Las Vegas Resort lacking. The resort has more handicap parking spaces than required by city code, but your comments have been forwarded to the General Manager so that they can be reviewed for possible solutions These are opportunities that we will continue to work on and could not do so without your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share and we hope to welcome you back again the next time you visit Las Vegas.

The rooms are about 800 square feet and are equipped with stove, refrigerator, dish washer washer, jacuzzi so if you are in town for a four to seven day convention or trade show, you are in a much better facility than a normal hotel room.

“Spent a nice week there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We traded through RCI for a week at the Grandview in January 2012. We had a two bedroom unit in the Iris building. Checkin was quick, and of course they sent us on over to the adjacent desk for our parking pass, which is another way of trying to sign you up for the timeshare presentation. We did go for the presentation, and trust me, I would NEVER recommend that to anyone. The "90 minute" presentation turned into more than three hours and the salesperson got a bit snarky when he finally realized that we weren't going to buy. We did get our gifts however, which were pretty nice, and almost worth the time spent (almost).

The unit was on the third floor on the back side of the building. Our view was of a wall across from the walkway. Every night at midnight they rolled a huge dumpster down the walkway apparently to empty it and then they rolled it back again! Very noisy and woke us up every night. Since the Grandview seemed nowhere near full, I would have thought they could have put us in a quieter location with a better view.

Our apartment was evidently not one of the renovated ones,..laminate counters, older furniture and appliances... but still very clean and comfortable. King bed was fine, Kitchen very well equipped, nice bathroom with double sinks and jacuzzi, washer and dryer in a small closet.

We had friends join us for part of the week. The second one bedroom unit was a mirror image of the side we were staying in...almost identically equipped, and our friends were very happy with it.

South Point Casino is literally next door with lots of restaurant choices, a bowling ally, and movie theater. We enjoyed the senior rates at the movie matinees.

All in all it was a fine week and we would be happy to stay at the Grandview again, though I would definitely request a unit on a hgiher floor.

“Cold customer service, awesome room after an upgrade fee”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I so wanted to love, love, love this resort. We travel with 2 young children so the hotels on the strip with access to moving billboards and photo cards with scantily clad women doesn't work for us. That being said it really is out in the boondocks. Southpoint being right next door is a lifesaver and the M Resort is a couple of miles south.

The short of it is that there are 7 buildings, the Daisy and Rosemary being the newest. I will post a photo of the resort grounds because that was something I couldn't find in my research. The rooms were very modern and nicely appointed. The king bed was comfy and the jacuzzi tub is a nice touch. We used both couchbeds and they were horrible...OK for kids though.

The kids activity pool is in between the Rosemary and Jasmine buildings and would be very fun for kids in good weather. Unfortunately with the way the buildings sit there was no sun in that area. We used the bigger rock waterfall pool area in between the Primrose and Sage buidings. It was very nice, I would definately choose that pool over the others. There is a small pool on the other side of the Jasmine and one by the Iris. The Daisy and Lily are across the parking lot on their own. The walk to any of the pools isn't bad so I wouldn't let that determine what building you want. And Southpoint is literally across the road behind the Daisy and Lily buildings.

The long of it is it took a good 25 min to check in on a friday night. I found an exceptional deal on hotels.com for $60 a night for a one bedroom condo. I needed a two bedroom but didn't want to pay triple for it so I was advised to book two, one bedroom condos and then call the resort and they would change it to a two bedroom. Great deal! I researched tripadvisor trying to figure out which building would be best for us since there are several. Tripadvisor contributors seem to love the place if they were put in a newer tower but there are a lot of complaints in the older ones. Being the hotel snob I am, I called the resort directly and requested the Daisy or the Rosemary. I was told, no problem.

So imagine my dismay when the receptionist said that both of those towers cost more money because they are new. I insisted that I was never told of any upgrade fee, to which I was told sorry mam. I didn't want to be ornery about it all weekend and we really did get a fabulous deal so I paid an extra $40. We were in the Rosemary on the 21 floor (top floor) and had a nice view of I-15. People have stated this before but there is one door in the hall that goes to two rooms on the interior. So our two bedroom was really two, one bedrooms. Kind of a weird setup with children and the outer door didn't have a safety lock so we felt we had to lock both interior doors for safety. It was like being in two different hotel rooms and I didn't like that too much. Also the two newer buildings can't get movie rentals, all the others can and the safe is $10. We didn't access the internet.

FYI- I didn't see rooms in any other buildings but one of ours was the red/modern/granite room and the other was the beige/modern/granite room that you see in photos. It would be nice if contributors labeled their posted room photos with the corresponding building so people know what to expect.

We weren't bothered at all with timeshare salesmen. Maybe they think hotels.com customers can't afford one :) either way we were glad. Parking for us was fine, they do have a parking garage if you want covered parking. Security was all around the property so we felt completely safe. There were timeshare picketers outside the property informing buyers that there is a 5 day period to change your mind if you buy. It's a good thing to know but that made crossing the street a little weird.

Overall, if I was just judging the Rosemary building and the pool I would give it 5 stars. But throw all the other stuff in and it was a 3 star at best. I don't want to have to worry if the photos I see online are just the "good" rooms and I'm going to be the lucky one that gets the "bad" one.

Room Tip: Expect to pay an upgrade fee if you want the newer Rosemary or Daisy buildings

Thank you for your detailed review of your vacation. Many guests have chosen our resort for their vacation because our location offers the best of both worlds; a quiet relaxing getaway that’s only 6 miles from the famous Strip when the mood for more excitement takes over. We apologize if you were not aware of the additional fee for the new buildings when you made your reservations with Hotels.com. These rooms have updated features such as granite counter tops, updated electronics, and movie cable channels and therefore are considered an upgrade. The Grandview at Las Vegas Resort is a timeshare property that features A & B suites that have a common locked foyer with separate locks for each suite. This unique combination is very popular with owners because it offers luxurious rooms with maximum privacy for larger parties and can be rented separately. We believe that all of our accommodations are an exceptional value for Vegas lodging and we hope we have the chance to welcome you back to the Grandview again.

“Stayed a week, never thought we would”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Usually going to Vegas is a weekend thing, our condo was so comfortable and lovely that we lasted the whole week. It was nice to be away from all the hustle and bustle of the strip. Located close to airport and freeway system it was easy to get around. Our condo was 1600 sq feet and very clean. Furniture was very modern and colors were "interesting" but the condo had everything we needed. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Best view from high floors
