“A Bargain!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

My husband and I travel often to Las Vegas and the surrounding area. We were originally booked on the Strip, but then changed to the Desert Paradise for more roomy accomodations. We had a two-bedroom villa that slept 6. Our master suite had a king bed and large bath, plus walk-in closet. Plenty of room for all our stuff. The second bathroom had a queen bed and another walk-in closet. The second bath was large and roomy, too. The living room had a sofa sleeper, which sleeps another couple if needed. The kitchen was roomy and fully stocked. There was a separate dining area.

I was so glad we had this unit for a week's stay in Las Vegas. I never felt crowded. The pool was well-protected, so we could sun and swim on even the cooler days. On Monday they had an info session that WAS NOT a push to sell you anything. It was merely sharing time for the concierge, with tips on places to go, etc. It was so nice not to be talked into anything. They just shared their travel info. And they had great bagels and Carl's donuts, too. We got maps for Red Rock Canyon, Ethel M Chocolate Factory, etc.

The only drawback to this place is the lack of luxury surrounding the actual resort. It's just a street with restaurants and businesses, so it's not as exciting as being on the Strip. But it was peaceful! It was about a three mile drive to the Strip, which was easy to do. It's not far from the Orleans.

Oh, it had a nice exercise room, too. Overall, a great place!

“Off Strip for families.”

First of all:
This is not an hotel, it is a timeshare that rents apartments to survive. They are in great shape, but you do not have room service everyday, just one by any four days.
If you rent the two bedroom apartment, you will feel just at home, with a full kitchen, microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, etc. You don't need anything elso to prepare a meal.
The place has a nice pool, gym, some vending machines, etc.

Tip: once the clerk desk gives you the keys, he sets a trap for you: he says "and now go and talk to the concierge (don't remember her name) and she will give you your parking permit" .
With that, you will find a nice and helpful lady that starts with activities to do, free places, and then, prior to give you the parking permit and your security code for the front door, she will try to sell you the timeshare.
She will start with some free tickets to some show. If you don't seem interested, then she tries a $100 Visa debit card if you attend to the meeting. I don't know if she offers more from then because that was my stop.

Cons:
Internet is $7 per day and it works horrible.
You have to make your own bed.
It is not on the Strip.
You have to endure the first talk with the marketing agent when you check in.

“Clean, Spacious and Comfortable Rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

I loved the size of the rooms and the amenities. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, happy to have a laundry room, very comfortable and cozy rooms, huge closets and bathtubs. The blinds and curtains do a spectacular job of keeping the sun out when you are trying to sleep in! We enjoyed the heated pools! The staff was great!

My only complaints:
1. When we tried to play on the pool table in the game room, we were told that they only had one stick and it needed a new tip. Bummer.
2. This is not on or near the strip, and the shuttle service is a bit limited in terms of times and locations. But the shuttle drivers are wonderful!

If you stay here:
1. Eat a O'Aces Bar & Grill, within walking distance.
2. Hang out at the Orleans Casino, also within walking distance.

“Peaceful Comfort near the strip”

We just returned from 4 days at the Desert Paradise between Christmas and New Years. We are Diamond Resort owners and used points for the booking. I like the fact that this is a renovated apt complex. Lots of unexpected closet space and large kitchen with pantry. While the kitchen counter tops and appliances could use updating, as a Diamond owner, I am glad that my maintenence fees are not being spent on units that are still in good condition and in good repair. The king bed was comfy and had the customary plush bedding that Diamond owners expect. Our one bedroom unit had a separate laundry room with full sized washer/dryer pair which we happily took advantage of. We consented to take a tour at Polo Towers but I actually like the Desert Paradise with its off strip location. We do not go to Vegas to gamble, but instead for dining and entertainment. We live near enough to drive so transportation is never an issue. Concierge info, check in/check out were speedy and courteous. The place is immaculate and they are constantly doing paint touch ups and sweeping the grounds to keep it looking great. I will definitely stay at the DP again.

“Great Resort-Good Stay-Book It”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2010

Stayed at the Desert Paradise Resort from December 26-31, 2010. This is a timeshare resort and it very nice and quite. The welcome area is very nice and, if you get Shirley, she is very pleasant and nice. Our unit was very nice. If you want the space and amenities (full kitchen, living/dining room, etc.) of an apartment or vacation rental, then this is a good choice.

You will need a rental car if staying at this resort as it would be difficult to get around.
If you go in the summer time, the facility offers a pool and BBQ area. Also, there are plenty of parking available and each unit is given a code to enter the resort after hours and the gates is closed at a certain time which is great and makes you feel safe.

As with everywhere you go in Vegas, they will try and sell you a timeshare if you do not own at Diamond Resort.
Grocery stores and supermarket is a 4 block radius, so you can go food shopping and cook in the unit if you like.
I would definitely go back and stay at this resort.
