“Dishonest”

Horrible and dishonest. We booked two months in advance. Chose this place purely on location since the hotel across the street, where we were attending a basketball tournament, was full. When we arrived in the morning they said our room wouldn't be clean until 3:00 and they took our cell number. At 3:00 they called and said they didn't have a room for us and we would "have to" go their other property and use their shuttle service. Other place was about 6 miles away--a $50 cab fare round trip. Plus it was a dump. Dirty panties were hanging on the shower rod, no pot for the coffeemaker, TV remotes didn't work, cheap furniture, no decor to speak of, confusing room numbering system, incredibly long walk to our room, and those are our observations in just the five or six hours we stayed there, Their shuttle service was random and unpredictable. They had the gall to tell us they knew they were already full when we first arrived but didn't tell us then because they hadn't decided what they were going to do yet. This left us no time to make better arrangements. They blamed their wholesalers for the overbooking but we made our reservation by phone directly to their front desk. Driver told us he took nine parties elsewhere the day before for the same reason. Their strategy seems to overbook to their hearts' content at their small hotel which is in a desirable location, to capture business for their large hotel which is in the middle of nowhere. We're not even sure it was still within the city limits of Las Vegas. We had to leave in the middle of a game to start sorting out this mess and they ruined one day of a three day trip. They did offer a small discount on the rate, Thanks, but no thanks. We couldn't wait to get out of there.

We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. Unfortunately, being an extended stay hotel, we sometimes run in to an oversold situation. This is rare, but does happen from time to time on very busy weekend when long term guests extend their stays. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

As noted in your review, management did offer a discount on your room for the inconvenience as well as our complimentary shuttle to take you to our other property. Management tries their best to accommodate every guest and ensure that they have an enjoyable stay with us.

We have also addressed with housekeeping your concerns regarding the shape of the room you say you received and assure you this is not a normal occurrence. If you would like to contact our manager directly at 702-948-9999 with your contact information, we can look into and address this situation further.

Thank You.

“Never again - Dirty and”

Would not stay here again. More of a flop house than anything. Couch was a joke. Looked like it was picked up off the street or a Craigslist reject. Socks were filthy after walking around a few minutes and bathroom was not acceptable. No hairs or bugs, but not a place you feel is hygienic.

I don't know how this place gets it's 5 ratings, but if you notice they are all from people with one review. Sounds like someone was busy pumping up this place. If you look at reviews from people with more than a single review, you will get a more accurate picture of the place.

In fairness, we got a two bedroom suite that allowed our pet at a reasonable price. However, in the future I'll opt for a national brand.

Would NOT recommend to anyone. Also, it advertises wi-fi but only had wired internet access?!

“Good bang for the buck”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2011

The suite and grounds were awesome. The suite was very clean, spacious and the price was right! Took my yellow lab and she had a blast. They have awesome areas for our canine friends but sadly the guests there were slobs and didn't clean up after their dogs. I found some of the staff great and a couple out to lunch. I would stay there again for sure but hope that the guests are a little more responsible in picking up after their pets.

“Terrible place hotel nightmare”

Do not stay here! We had the unfortunate luck to strike Las Vegas when the huge international electronics trade show was on and had to spend one night here. The mattresses are so old and saggy that sleep is impossible. The microwave turntable didn't work, the safe locked us out as the door malfunctioned and could not be opened until maintenance arrived at 8am. Then to top off a terrible nights sleep with the lap top and teenagers ipod locked away, the toilet blocked up during the night. We had to wait 3 hours until maintenance arrived at 8am to use the toilet. For all our issues the staff where neither apologetic or helpful and when I demand a reduction in my bill was offered a $10 discount! We had toilet block for 30 minutes in Grand Canyon and the staff could not be faulted in their quick response, and gave a $30 discount with no request from me on check out and apologies offered for this happening.

“The worst motel experience in a long time!”

This place was absolutely horrible. The couch was so old and nasty, we hardly wanted to sit down on it. The bed mattresses were so old and broken down that the edges folded up when we lay down on them. They take pets and the dogs were barking consistantly (forget actually sleeping). The heater blower would not work. After three atempts to get a room that was decent, we gave up and got our money back. I can't believe how much they actually want you to spend for junk these days!!

I'm sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your accommodations. We appreciate your honest review as it helps us to better understand where our strengths and weaknesses are.

We do have close to 400 suites on property and I will admit that there are still a few rooms where the furniture may be a little out-dated. We are working to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, if you were staying with us on sold out weekend, we are not able to avoid selling these rooms.

We are a pet friendly property and unfortunately due to that we are not able to avoid the occasional barking dog. However, we do have only 2 designated pet buildings. Should you decide to give us another try, we recommend requesting a room in the 1st two buildings which are away from the pet buildings.

I would ask that you read thru some of the better reviews and be willing to give Emerald Suites another chance. We do strive to make sure that every experience at Emerald Suites is a great one! Please contact me at melissa@emeraldsuites.com should you decide to stay with us again so that I can insure you have a good quality suite and get the service you deserve.

Thank you,
