“Horrible Experience”

I booked my room at Emerald Suites Las Vegas Blvd 4 months in advance by credit card and when I arrived they had sold my room AND had no vacancy. The two gals at the front desk basically said, we see you booked and confirmed by credit card, but 'tough luck'. They further gave me a phone book to call around and find a room.
I slept on a friend's couch and found a room at another hotel at 3x the cost (convention in town) and Emerald wouldn't do anything to compensate me.
Worst customer service I experienced in 35 years of traveling.

“Nice place but I'll never stay there again and thats because.....”

The free internet they have is terrible!! If you are a business traveler and need a working internet think twice about staying here. Very unreliable, its about a 50/50 chance that you can ever connect to it. And when you can, its so slow the computer times out waiting for anything to load....worthless. It crashes all the time and it takes them a day to get working again so there is no internet. Its ridiculous that I have to go down the street to Mcdonalds's every day almost to do my work and check email. And the female night clerk is rude. During mt stay the refrigerator stopped working, all the food went bad, the garbage disposal stopped working and needed repaired and the a/c/heater stopped working 2 times and was replaced.

Room Tip: Rooms by pool are the best

“basic but satisfactory”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

we stayed in a two bedroom suite. two king-sized beds in good-sized rooms, with large closets. good sized living room, and kitchen. two (old) TVs. heat/cooling in living room and one bedroom. cheap but good condition furniture. basic kitchen stuff (toaster, coffee machine, four plates, glasses, cups, cutlery etc). small gym, most of the equipment was out of order. small but clean pool. large laundry facilities (pay $1.50). it's about 5 miles from the very southern point of the strip. there's very little nearby, no restaurants/bars within walking distance (liquor store across the road). pet friendly. we saw a cockroach in the apartment on the first day, but not since then. we had a no-smoking room, but still some smell of smoke, possibly from air vents. internet is not wi-fi and was very very slow at peak times.

“A TRUTHFUL Review!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Have been staying here for a couple of months and here's the real truth about Emerald Suites: These reviews that say this place is great, have to be from the management or something, because I've not spoken to anyone staying here that likes it. The worse thing about this place is the "FREE INTERNET"! The internet is down more than it's up. And when I call the front desk to let them know that the internet is down, they sound annoyed, and can take anywhere from and hour to a couple of days to get back up. My business is internet based, so I've had to go get a WIFI Hotspot from Verizon because of this. And when it's up, it's barely faster than dial-up. This is a fact about their "Free Internet"!

The management and front desk employees are not friendly, do not give a crap and make it real clear of that, especially when I call them. While in the front office, I've observed them slamming the phone down on customers, rolling their eyes at each other while talking to a customer and other rude behavior. The basically treat tenants like trash and act like they are above the rest. We are staying here for the winter and that's it and never will again. There are a lot of "shady" characters around here....drug dealings going on a lot. Prostitution, etc. We had no idea this place was this bad when renting it.

If your room is on the inside facing the "courtyard", you will be blessed with noisy kids screaming, people running up and down the walkways that will rattle your room like an earthquake and people hanging out on the balconies watching you come and go. If you absolutely have to stay in this place, demand an outside room so you can keep an eye on your vehicle and it will be much more quiet also.

ALSO: The rooms DO NOT look like the pictures on their website!!! Don't be fooled by that. And don't believe the reviews that say this place is great! I made that mistake and never will again. You will do well to pass this place by! And.....THE FREE INTERNET SUCKS!

“Great place for families, long stays, etc”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

If you are coming to Vegas and not to gamble 24/7 or have family, this is a great place to stay. The rooms are all suites, with a full sized fridge, internet built in, couch - similar to a studio apartment. This is a place if you came to do other things and don't want to have to walk thru every casino to get to the door to outside, definitely the place to go. I highly recommend it to family and friends that come to visit and rent a car, as within 5 minutes they can be in the middle of the Strip and park anywhere for free; but get away from the chaos and traffic; noise and street handlers at night and escape back to a QUIET section of the strip with a mall across the street. VERY CLOSE to everything but it does not force you to eat out for every meal and go broke on vacation on meals. Has a swimming pool, laundry, and the front desk staff was extremely helpful. I would look for the chain anywhere I traveled as I was very impressed.

Room Tip: If you have a lot of luggage, request a bottom floor as there are NO elevators!
