DO NOT STAY HERE!
I have been to las vegas about 100 times, this was my first time staying at the palms and it will be y last! horrible experience, horrible service and my biggest complaint would be about "Kristina" she was rude and does not deserve that position at all!She kept telling me she was the manager when i asked to speak to someone higher than her when her name tag said she was the "assistant manager".The casino is small the clubs aren't great and the buffet was disgusting! The housekeeping didn't clean my room once the entire time i had to clean my own room and use the same towels! I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE.

ANGRY CUSTOMER

Room Tip: "Do not stay here and watch out for Kristina!"

“Just Ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I got a complimentary upgrade to a suite so that was a good start, but otherwise the Palms is just ok. The room was spacious, but the nickel-and-diming got to be too much after a while.
* $14.95 per day for Internet Access. (They must be joking). If you want to attract business conventions, you really should include Internet Access for free.
* No coffee maker in the room. I thought this was standard in even cheap hotels now.
* Old TV that always starts on those irritating 'come-on' channels that try to get you to buy adult movie rentals
* $15 dollar per day "resort" fee. Fellas, I'm here on business. I don't have time for no stinkin' resort and don't want to pay for one.
* The wait staff, dealers, waitresses, etc are not particularly friendly and do not appear to have been trained to be so. I don't think hotels really understand how big a return they would get for hiring the right and training them to be 100% customer-focused.

Don't get me wrong. It's not a dump and has many nice restaurants, a nice food court and other nice features (including what appear to be non-union waitresses, if you know what I mean), but with all the other choices in Vegas, I can't figure why anyone would pick the Palms as their first choice.

Dear Atlanta Guest,

We appreciate your honest review of your experience at the Palms Casino Resort. Guest service is of the utmost importance to our team, and we apologize that you were seemingly not met with the friendly and attentive service that we have come to be known for. Your concerns with the resort fee are certainly valid, and we are in the process of restructuring the resort fee to include amenities such as wireless internet and fitness center access. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to the property in the future.

Kind Regards,

“Third Time a Charm?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

people found this review helpful

Overall: Third time the charm? Nope! This is my third time staying at the Palms for a business conference held at the Rio across the street (typically every year for the past three years around Jan/Feb timeframe). Apparently, I need to get over my aversion to Rio if they have the conference at the Rio again next year because after this stay, the Palms is not worth it to me (even though the Palms may have slightly better facilities). My biggest complaint is overall poor customer interaction, staff didn’t seem that they wanted to help me or ensure that the stay was pleasant (this comment does not include the bellboys, they were always pleasant and helpful).

Check in: Checked in on a Monday afternoon. No wait, relatively easy to check in.

Rates: The room rate varied. It was $70 (Monday), $56 (Tuesday), $70 (Wednesday).

Resort Fee: $16.80 total including tax. This included a $15 drink coupon that you had to use one per night (I believe only at the casino bars and not in restaurants), free local calls, and boarding pass printing. However, my colleague went to the business center to print out his boarding pass and they told him he couldn’t. So, I’m not sure where you print the boarding pass then (I just did it at the airport). The resort fee does not include access to the gym; that is an additional $25 and is in Palms Place (about a 5 minute walk from the Palms Hotel). Also no newspaper.

Internet Service: $14.95 per day (!). Did not use.

Room: Stayed in room 30-108. Layout was fine, but the lighting was dim and room temperature was on the warm side. The thermostat was set at the coolest temperature and still the room wasn’t cool enough for me (and I typically like it warmer!). Mini fridge (but I don’t think it was for storage of food – I never opened it), room safe, and coffee maker. It had an old style TV (not flat screen) and the armoire had the pressed wood trim peeling off.

Shower: High pressure, low volume. Not my favorite but workable.

Toiletries: Earth Accents, I’m guessing Palm’s name brand (lotion, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and body gel). Housekeeping did replenish the shampoo and conditioner.

“Always wanted to Stay- But will I stay again?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I had a solo trip planned at the end of December for a long weekend. (Thurs, Friday, Saturday & Sunday). I usually stay at CET or MGM Resort Props but I always wanted to say at the Palms Hotel & Casino.

So, I found a decent rate on their website for that Thursday Night. I figured I would stay their one night before I moved on to the Casino's that offer me free nights.

I Arrived about 8pm, no check in line at all. Nice start, but upon check in- I was told that my room (Fantasy Tower Room) was not available? I highly doubt it, since I know that the week before Christmas is the LOW season for Vegas. I was a bit upset that he told me that my room wasnt available but for a FEE of $200 I can get a Penthouse Suite. Normally, when with friends or G/F I would think about it, but I was by myself for 12 hours before I moved on. I declined, but he didnt give up. I was getting annoyed so I finally gave in. Not a Penthouse Suite but a Grand Suite on the top floor of the Fantasy Tower, but I had to pay $100 fee.

The room was gorgeous with a good view of North Vegas. Big living room with bar and Flat Screen TV, then open the double doors to the bedroom. Nice King bed with a HUGE bathroom.

The Tub was like a swimming pool, but the shower was the best shower ever. It had one of those rainfail faucets but that's not all. It had about 6 jets that went around your body, it was the best shower ever, but it doesnt stop. It also had Steam Temp gauge, which I turned all the way up.

So- after my hour long shower, I was pumped to gamble- Played Craps as I usualy do. Not bad $5 table- but who bets $5 at craps? Not me, I'm a full odds type of player. I was about even after a few hours, went to the bar to claim my free drink (FOR THE RESORT FEE), played video blackjack and thats about it.

I was able to get in touch with an old friend, so I went out for the night- I returned about 6am, gambled a little bit- Went to the front desk to ask about late check out- They gave me to 1pm with no charge--

Overall- Good time, nice room- but I dont know if I will go again- I think if I got a good room like I did last time at the same price I would consider it but nothing WOW'd me except for the shower....

“Great Hotel, Off Strip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I have stayed at the Palms four times now and it is a great property. Now the only drawback is it is just Off Strip, BUT just walk across the street to either the Rio or Gold Coast and take their free shuttle to The Strip. If you are staying out late on The Strip you will need to cab it back though.
Checking in you will not have any problems, the staff are friendly and will answer any questions you have. I stayed in the Palms Tower, have not had the chance to stay in the Fantasy Tower yet. The rooms are your standard rooms, But clean and the beds are very comfortable. The casino is not huge so it is easy to navigate. It has a really great feel to it as well. There is a lounge just to the right when you first walk into the property and it is a nice place when they have a band playing. There is a theatre if you want to catch a movie, a food court if you do not feel like splurging at one of the expensive restaurants. The buffet is subpar though. Summer the pool is open, and there are always parties going on there. If you are into people watching, well just sit near the entrance at a slot machine and watch the fashion show stroll in to hit the 3 clubs there. Overall great place. Lots of good deals too can be found on room rates here. The rooms are to be remodelled this year with the new owners.

Room Tip: Save money on cabs to The Strip. Across the street at Gold Coast & Rio they have free shuttles t...
