“Not the best Westin, not the worst...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Travelled to Las Vegas for a conference in October and stayed at the Westin. We booked this hotel because of the price; it was significantly cheaper than a lot of the hotels on the strip. Walking in the door you are immediately greeted by cigarette smoke from the casino in the lobby area. The same goes for pretty much every other casino in Vegas, but there is no where to get away from it here. The bar area and lobby adjoin the casino, so you are stuck with the smoke unless you sit in your room. The pool area was nice and all the chairs looked new. The view from the hotel room was a vacant dirt lot no matter what side you are on, so don't go here for the view!!

The front desk staff was very nice and there were no issues getting my room. The room was clean and typical size for a Westin Hotel. Bathroom was very clean and there were ample towels and wash cloths. The bed was very comfortable but the TV was the old box type and did not work very well. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, they have a buffet breakfast or you can order from their menu. I believe the breakfast buffet was $25.00. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the strip and it is very easy to get a cab if you need one. You can also walk across the street to Bally's Casino and cut through the Casino if you don't feel like walking down the street. The hotel is also a block from the tram station. The casino seemed to have cheaper minimums at the tables then the rest of the casino's I visited in Vegas. So if you are interested in table games it may be a better deal. Probably wouldn't stay here again next time unless the rates were really good.

Room Tip: Upgraded rooms on the top floor did not seem any better than regular ones, so you may want to save t...

“I hate to share this gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

A secret hideaway off the strip but actually closer than most strip hotels, this small Westin gem is smoke free, deliciously comfy like Westins should be and perfect to come home to at the end of a smoke filled crowd touching night of fun.

Room Tip: ask for a higher floor

“This place is average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

First of all this place would be terrible if it wasn't for the great staff. The cleaning staff was great and the front desk gave excellent service. The bartenders not so much. I'm at the bar now writing this review after 30 minutes of being ignored. It's not even that busy. Not even a "hi". The vents in my room are filthy and the hallway on the 12th floor smells like pee. The location is nice, it's quiet and comfortable. But there are a few things they could do better. Fire the bar staff, offer a better happy hour, clean the vents, install flat screen Tvs in the room, dont charge for wifi, and can I get a fridge without a lock on it? And a microwave!

“For CES a hidden GEM!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I was sick of the obnoxious rates my company was paying for the block of rooms at CES. I made a reservation here over a year ago at the AAA rate which included breakfast. I am platinum and called them prior to my arrival. They did upgrade me. The show fell during my 50th birthday. They sent me up a bottle of wine and platter. Here is the skinny....SERVICE IS AMAZING!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! Anything I wanted they brought. They had 2 newspapers at my door! Restaurant food is good compared to most of the other hotels (I only wished it was in a closed in area as I hate the smoke from the casino. Rooms are very spacious and nice. Beds are comfortable and NO bed bugs AND ROOM WAS SUPER CLEAN! I had two robes in my room and did not have to call for a thing! They have a separate fridge plus the honor bar! I LOVED the rubber duck in the tub with the dice (SO CUTE). I felt totally secure going in and out at any time of day. The best part was I did not have to wait for the long taxi lines! I was able to get a ride VERY quickly every time I had to come and go. It is close to the airport and near shopping, ceasars, venetian, and not terribly far from the convention center. I did love that the traffic was not crazy around the hotel. If you want you can take the monarail across the street to convention center and other spots. They are VERY nice and polite! I would stay here again for CES! PROS-NEWER HOTEL, EASY ACCESS, GOOD FOOD, NOT TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE, EASY TRANSPORTATION, GREAT FOR CONVENTIONS, MEETINGS, AND EVENTS!

Room Tip: I was on a higher floor and did not hear any noise whatsoever! Rooms are VERY sound proof... LOVE I...
