Stayed at Harrah's Las Vegas 10/28/09-11/3/09 with 5 of 6 nights comped. No line at check in upon arrival at 4pm on a Wednesday. Check in hostess very friendly and helpful, but would not upgrade room without and additonal fee per night--not worth it.
We were given a non-smoking two bed room next to our traveling companions--these requests were honored with no problems. Our room was in the Mardi Gras Tower, but was not one of the newly refurbished rooms. Room was very small, but clean. I appreciate the fact that the hotel has gotten rid of the traditonal bedspread in favor of a down blanket with duvet-like sheets--you at least feel it is clean. Our view was of the Mirage Volcano....and the rooftop below with air conditoners. Would not advise paying extra for a "view".
Housekeeping did skip our room the first day. We had to call for extra towels. They were brought to us promptly. After that, housekeeping did a very good job. We left a tip in the envelope every night and the housekeeper actually thanked me for the money--a very polite first for me!
Casino was enjoyable, but not my favorite. Did ok on the slots here, was happy to play the five dollar let it ride table for a while.
Tried out the Flavors Buffet for breakfast one morning and it was suprisingly good. Went for a late night snack at the 24 hour restaurant and was incredibly displeased with the length of time it took to get a bowl of soup--30 minutes! Waiter did not apologize for the delay...just stated "when I get it, you get it". Poor customer service.
Location could not be beat. I have stayed at 6 other strip hotels over the years and loved the fact that I could be out of my room, through the casino, and out on the strip in under five minutes. Mirage was directly across the street and this was one of the few spots that you can actually cross Las Vegas Blvd. on the street level.
I would not chose this hotel as a first choice and it is not luxurious by any means. It was a very convenient, economical, and clean spot for a base of operations. In room safe was free and easy to use, felt safe in room. Hallways were not too loud. I would chose to stay again if the price was right.

Stayed at Harrah's for the first time with some friends for the Big Smoke Cigar convention at the Venetian. Have been to Vegas a few times before but not Harrahs Las Vegas hotel. Harrah's has a great location on the strip. My room was on the 29th floor of the Carnival Tower with Strip view. Very nice room and could see the Mirage volcano, etc. Room was very nice and bed comfortable. Excellent value in terms of room quality and price. Easy check in, no problems with room service. Elevators mored fast. The casino itself is just okay. More happening next door at the Imperial Palace or for a better place the Mirage across the street.

The Toby Keith Bar ( had good live music and no cover which was nice. Good night life at this place for all ages. Bar drinks were reasonably priced for vegas.

We were really disappointed with the Cafe at Harrahs. Most hotels/casinos have a staple resturant for all meals 24 hours and moderately priced. I had breakfast and lunch at the Cafe a few times. Each time the food was awful and the service was very slow. I mean over 30 minutes to get your breakfast after you have ordered, takes 15 minutes to get to order. Definte impression that this organization really does not care about the quality this resturant is delivering. Servers were pleasant, but hostesses and managers could care less. Bad food, Bad Service. But still Vegas prices. I walked acrossed the street and had breakfast at the Mirage at their deli location. Much better quality and service.

Recommend Harrahs managment improve the Cafe Harrahs. Customers will pay for good food and service.

We experienced 3 money grubbing scams from this hotel. We arrived on a Tuesday morning at about 11AM and were told that we could not get access to our room because it would not be ready until 4PM, however for a $50 dollar room upgrade we could get a room right away. We drove to Las Vegas so we just parked our luggage in the car and came back at 4PM to check in again (Another waiting Line).Tuesday morning and no rooms available?? I doubt it. I always arrive at 11AM at other Hotels on the strip and this was the first denial of a room for ransom.
Second scam: A $16 Additional to our bill for refreshments taken from the mini bar. Never used any of that stuff and they removed the charge from our bill.
Third Scam: One night we arrived at the parking lot in the dark and parked our car at the end of the aisle away from all of the other cars to prevent dings etc. It turns out the lane markings are impossible to see at night because they haven't been painted in many years, we just assumed this was a good parking spot, based on where other cars were parked. What we missed was the diagonal stripes that designated this spot as NO Parking. You could not see any lane markings at night. They put a boot on our car, and demanded $50 to remove it. We asked to talk to the head of security, and he showed up on site and would not forgive our unintentional mistake, I guess the $50 was more important to him than customer service or future business. I told him to take my picture because this would be the last time he would see me in this or any other Harrah's hotel.
If you want the internet it is $12 for a 24 hour period. Local calls are $1.25 for the first 15 minutes. This establishment ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Fooled me once, shame on you. I won't be fooled again. I'm a seven star player for 2 years now. If you have heard we are treated special, don't believe it and waste your time and money. So you think you are treated bad when you are a Diamond Player, just imagine how bad it is when you are ignored as a 7star. Staff here are rude, angry that you inconvience them with any question. Computer System broke down for 3 -4 hours, do you think they would credit you with they play, no way. I think the forgot about loyalty. I don't have to stay or play here anymore. I've learned my lesson and will be staying at an MGM property. They treat you like a VIP every time, not just your annual trip. Adios

We went for a getaway from reality and thats exactly what we got. We booked thru Allegiant Air and when we got there we upgraded the room which was definately worth it. Carnival Court is a great place for a drink and the flair bartenders are extremely entertaining. THe Piano bar is a blast. Every night has a different crowd but the more the crowd gives the more the players give. We spent a lot of time at Tobys bar. Leo is an awesome bartender. I have never had such great drinks. Order the mason jar drinks. He put the vodka bottle upside down in my cup and then ran around the bar twice till the jar was 3/4 full of vodka. It was awesome. The house band was great. Harrahs is getting a little old but for the price is still a good base for your vegas fun.
