“Good value and central to Fremont Experience”

Being a bConnected member (have a Boyd Property players card), I booked on-line, which showed free/comp'd rooms for four nights. Upon arrival, John checked us in at the front desk. He said our offer was for only two free nights, and said the other two nights would be at $35/ night. A casino host wouldn't override that. However, an hour later, John had taken it upon himself and had called Reservations. He confirmed that we were reserved four (4) comp'd nights and they honored our FOUR free nights. THANKS BIG JOHN!!

The machines are dated in this casino. Not many new machines have been added in the past few years.
TIP: If you ask for a coffee maker upon check-in, they will send one to your room!!

Room Tip: King-bed rooms are over the Taxi stand. Cabs are honking their horns all night long. To avoid it, y...

“Not really my kinda place.”

Let me start by saying I was comped for my stay at Fremont and have no real complaints about the room as it was free. The decor was nice and modern and the room was clean. My big complaint is about the service. It is like they took everyone who had been fired for being rude at all of the other casinos and hired them on at the Fremont. My first run in was at the Players card booth. The lady working behind the counter acted as though she was upset that I asked a question and interrupted her conversation with another employee. Check in was not as pleasant as it could be, it was more like checking in at a public health clinic. Housekeeping was great, although I tend to tip them well. One bartender acted like it was an imposition when we asked about drink specials, but another bartender made up for that later. I knew what it was before I went. We chose to stay downtown because during our last trip we had found the big resort casino we stayed at to be a bit more flashy and showy for our tastes. We were hoping for something a little more middle of the road with the Fremont. I know that downtown is more for an older crowd, but it seemed like unless you were over 60 years of age or a bit on the trashy side, you did not get good customer service. So we spent our money in casinos elsewhere. We spent the last half of our trip on the strip.

“It all depends on what you want.”

When choosing a hotel you have to ask yourself what is it I am looking for. Vegas especially offers a very wide array of choices, so you really need to ask that all important question. Do you want glitz and glamor, pretty people and high end entertainment, spas and shopping? If so then the strip is the place to be. If I were treating myself and my wife to a fun vacation trip probably that's where we would head. Or if we were looking for just a basic, more budget minded, gamble a little play a little trip, then downtown might be our choice.

This trip was a business trip, and downtown was simply more convenient, to say nothing of less costly. This was my first stay at the Fremont and it fit the bill very nicely, thank you. The room while not large was more than adequate. It was clean, as has been mentioned in some other reviews, tastefully redecorated recently. It was a nonsmoking room/floor and I didn't detect any smoke odor in the room although a little from the main floor does make it's way into the hall around the elevator. The bed, pillows and bedding were comfortable. The bath room was small, while I had no problems, it is a one person at a time proposition. Loved the water pressure, huge plus for me. Restauranting downtown offers a pretty wide choice, I opt mostly for sandwiches etc when not entertaining. People-watching under the canopy of the Fremont Experience is almost as good as any number of the shows one can see on the strip. But as I have said this was first and foremost a business trip. The staff was extremely friendly did their job well. Housekeeping missed servicing my in-room coffee, front desk handled it in a timely fashion. Check out was a little slow with only one person on station.

Al in all have to give it a thumbs up. Not fancy, but the equal of any mid-range Motel chain. I booked as a Flight/Hotel package and was very pleased with the great value for the money.

“Nice Dealer, grouchy Pit boss”

We stopped by here on our last day of gambling to experience Fremont street... I said and played roulette for a few hours and had a pretty good time... The downer for me was the Angry looking little men ( the Pit Bosses) that kept yelling at people and complaining about their jobs to each other... It ruins the fun if you keep getting distracted by grumps.. I would've stayed and played a lot longer if the mood had been more fun..

“Downtown Gem”

We recently stayed at the Fremont Hotel in downtown Las Vegas. Although the property is old since it goes back to Vega's origins, it's still a nice play to stay. If you are looking for luxury then look someplace else. If you are looking for an inexpensive fun place then this is the place for you. The rooms are cozy and clean. The TV is old but we only watched the news while we got ready to go gamble, eat or cruise around downtown. Downtown is great and a lot different than the glizy strip but it's still a lot of fun and the casinos are close to each other. The casino is small but the dealers are fun and friendly. We even played $3 craps and blackjack.
