“Not 5-star facilities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Trump LV first week in February for 4 nights. We have noted the following:

Good points:
Friendly, professional and efficient service
Good value for money
Very clean room/bathroom
Non-smoking, quiet and casino - free resort
Good decor throughout the hotel

Bad points:
Location - although not far from the Strip access is a bit a awkward
There is only one bar at the hotel which closes at 11pm, when tried to order cocktail as a room service staff did not know how to make one (Pinacolada)
Breakfast bar could not cope with number of guests on Saturday morning- had to wait for 30mins to be seated for breakfast
There were no slippers or bathrobes provided in the room- had to call housekeeping service (although their response was very quick- items were delivered within 10mins)
There is fixed shower which was extremely temperamental changing water temperature randomly from hot to cold
No shower in the Jacuzzi so impossible to rinse your body after taking a bath
Bath towel sizes are for Lilliputians- never seen such small bath towels in any hotels
Hotel does not provide shower gel- instead guest get body soap which is not very nice (maybe something to do with preventing guests to use bath/shower gels in Jacuzzi)
Train noise is very loud- I am a very heavy sleeper (especially after long-haul flights) but the train hooting was so loud- definitely much louder than any traffic noise you might experience in busy cities such as NY- and we were based on 51st floor in city view room

“Best hotel I have stayed in!!”

Me and my boyfriend went to Vegas for my birthday in January and I was amazed by the quality of the service, the incredibly friendly staff, and of course the gorgeous hotel itself!! We had one of their basic studio rooms, which don't get me wrong, it was not cheap, however, the room was spotless and we had a view right down the strip through our huge window in the rooms lounge area. The room also included catering facilities and the bathroom was more than OK. It had a huge walk in shower and a hot tub. The mirror in the bathroom even had a TV built into it which was brilliant whilst brushing my teeth :-D the fact the hotel doesnt have a casino did not phase me, in fact I certainly appreciated it. It meant the hotel was peaceful yet a 2 minutes walk away from the action, with free transfers from the hotel to the nearest casino 'Wynn' and another, but not entirely sure which. My boyfriend and I are already looking at booking our next trip to Vegas, and it will certainly be back to Trump!!

“Pleasantly surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Having been to Vegas multiple times, we tend to prefer staying on the North Strip. One huge plus for us is Fashion Mall (well, myself, not so much my husband!). Besides shopping close by, it's nice having some wallet-friendly eats close by: Starbucks, food court, Stripburger etc. However, two fantastic restaurants: El Segundo (Mexican) and Maggianos (Italian)
really make our stay.

Location: That preamble sets up the location that Trump is just across the street from Fashion Mall, and that going through the mall is easiest access to the Strip. The hotel is quite a walk away from the nearest Casino (Wynn-15mins), however, the hotel makes up for this with free and frequent shuttle service to Wynn and Caesars Palace (more central). Otherwise, taxis are your best bet. If you intend on walking the strip frequently, perhaps not the place for you...

Rooms: The top room we've stayed in Vegas, even slightly above our corner room at Wynn! We also booked a corner strip view room at Trump, but in terms of 'bang for the buck', it came with a small kitchenette (full fridge and comped coffee, stove, sink, freezer), dining room table, living room area, large kingsize bedroom, two toilets, and a huge main bathroom with one of the highlights of the stay - a jacuzzi tub with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the strip (yes, I could even partially see the Bellagio fountain show from the tub!). Small tip: the tub needs to be filled to near overflowing for the jets to work. Just covering the jets isn't enough. It appears the room was intended as a private condo...Small issue with hearing the train, but knew that from TA reviews, and got used to it by the second night. The hotel itself is quiet.

Pool area/gym: Free loungers sofas all around. Husband used the gym and was impressed with the range of equipment, from free weights to machines.

Food: Did not eat here, but loved our room so much (and the view) we would often use 'take out' from Fashion Mall, buy some wine from the ABC store in the mall, and go from there...

Overall, loved it and would stay here again. Would recommend it for those who don't need a Casino, and have been to Vegas before.

Room Tip: Because of trains, not recommended for light sleepers, or do not choose rooms on the West side of th...

“Lovely rooms, pleasant staff, shame about the train noise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This was my second stay at the Trump and after staying in standard hotel rooms it is wonderful to walk through the doors into the huge Trump rooms.
The staff are always polite and helpful. I did have to wait 45 minutes to get my bags sent up to my room and 45-60 minutes for maintenance to attend when I discovered the stove wasn’t functional, which was quite disappointing. To be fair, the lobby was very busy when I arrived so the delay in luggage arrival is understandable.
From memory I stayed on the 36th floor last year, this year on the 25th in the exact same location in the hotel. Being lower certainly impacted on the train noise levels, where previously I found the train unobtrusive, this time around it woke me up every night (the 2:30am train driver sure does love blasting the horn). I had hoped to pay a little extra to upgrade to a strip view room on check in (I booked through Priceline so was unable to reserve a Strip View) but unfortunately this wasn’t offered, the hotel seemed to be at capacity. The beds in this hotel are the best I’ve ever slept on, thankfully getting back to sleep is no trouble.
I was happy to see that the Fashion Show Drive crosswalk has been moved to the front of the hotel, it is much more convenient and safer now than it was this time last year.
I would definitely return for another stay at the Trump, but would not stay in the same room or lower as this year.

Room Tip: The higher up the better, I would book a strip view to avoid the train noise.

“Considering the money we saved by having a kitchen, it was great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

The main reason we stayed at the Trump was because it had a kitchen and refridgerator as we have seen and heard about the outrageous prices for food in Las Vegas. We figured that if we cooked at least one to two meals a day, we would save over $100 per day in food costs for our family of four. This paid off for us, we took a grand canyon trip the first day and bought food at the grocery store when we returned. The rooms at the Trump are very nice, top notch. My only complaint is that the Trump is in a rather poor location, there is a nice shopping mall adjacent to it but there is nothing on the other side. It is situated across from the Wynn/Encore but you really have to walk to get to where most of the attractions are. If you have a car to drive in Vegas, it's a perfect location as you can easily drive to where you want to go. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the kitchen if you want to save on the food costs (which are very high in Las Vega...
