“Spring Skiing Central”

Traded our timeshare week for a stay here and it was well worth it (they also rent out units by the week); all units are the same layout and size - room for 6 in two bedrooms (both have Queen size beds) and the 3rd floor loft which has 2 twin beds. Both bathrooms and bedrooms are on lowest of the 3 levels where there is also a stacking washer/dryer which was handy for drying wet ski gear. Middle floor has a full kitchen, dining and living area with fireplace and a lovely deck with 4 chairs overlooking the tall pine trees (location is a few blocks from the waterfront). Outside your front door (which is keyless) is a locked ski cupboard. Clubhouse offered Happy Hour daily and the indoor or outdoor hot tubs were open which pleased our two teens (also offer movies to rent, arcade games and use of 2 racqetball courts). Easy 3 block walk to plaza with huge Raley's grocery store which is open late. 24 hr. excellent Safeway also nearby in King's Beach area. Units were clean, warm, well outfitted and you can exchange linens any day of the week at the office. Great access to many ski hills - shuttle to Diamond Peak comes right to the complex. Less than 1 hr. drive to Reno or 2.5 hr. drive from San Francisco - warm spring weather meant we didn't have to worry about tire chains which are the law when it is stormy. Office offers discounts on ski passes to about 5 resorts and has brochures on them all. Found Incline Village to be upscale and safe - preferred it to south Lake Tahoe despitegambling places right at the state line and even in the grocery store!

“Quiet, Clean and Wonderful”

Very nice 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit with loft. It is very large and can easily accommodate 6. The lower level has a large separate bedroom and bath as well as a smaller bedroom with another shower stall bath (small) accessed in the lower hall area. There is also a sink in the lower area public space so that it's available to people on the mid and upper levels. The mid level has a full living room with fireplace, dining room and major kiitchen. The upper level is accessed by a winding open stairway to a balcony with 2 single beds. There is an outside balcony open from the dining/livingroom area. Tennis and pool are nice areas at main lodge that has a quiet bar and gameroom.
No AC but not needed as the temps were 35-40 each night and 80 in daytime. Plenty of windows and nice breeze. Hyatt is about 1 mile away with good sunset bar on pier, dinner/snack patio and upscale restaurant. About 5 miles from 4 Crystral Bay casinos.... don't miss the $1.99 Biltmore 3 egg breakfast.
Austins is near the Hyatt with great large salads for $10... excellent value. Esmeralda Mexican is about 1/2 mile away with good food and upper bar. Sand Harbor beach park is 7 miles away and great for water sports. Incline has 2 beaches and passes are available at front desk. Reno is 45 minutes away and South Lake Tahoe is about 35 minutes. Lake water barely gets to 70 if there is no wind. If water churns it stays near 65.
Great views, great biking and hiking, good kayak lake.

  • Liked — Large, clean and airy.
  • Disliked — 3 levels with bathrooms on lower level only.
  • Tips/Secrets — Upper area off Wendy Lane is quiter but a little more remote from pool/lodge

“Pleasant retreat in the mountains”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2006

Just spent a week in Incline Village. We have stayed in South Lake Tahoe before but I now prefer the less busy and less commercial North Tahoe area. The beaches are beautiful and less crowded (I think cleaner, too) although due to record snowfall last winter the locals said that there is "less beach and water is colder (50-55 degrees)".

Club Tahoe is in a quiet neighborhood and is close to a grocery store, restaurants and a golf course. The previous reviewer was dead on on the description of the property (the rooms, the tall kitchen counter (for shorter people like me, I guess) and older furnishings/carpeting). Not a fancy property but comfortable and clean. The spiral staircase to the loft (with the twin beds) was a little steep for my little kids so we put 2 adults up there (even my brother stumbled slightly coming down. Steps were kinda narrow for adult feet! ). Our unit was located closer to the back of the property (near the creek) which was nice and quiet but had to pull out the bug juice in the evenings when outdoors.
The unit had 2 TV's, 1 VCR (no DVD player), a CD player/radio, washer-dryer, stove, fridge, trash compactor, dishwasher, full kitchen with pots/pans, kitchen utensils (I always bring a sharp knife- never have found a sharp one in rentals). It has no AC so we did bring a little portable fan (which helped when we caught the tail end of a heat wave last week). We had no room service for the week but can exchange towels in the laundry room anytime. I think there is in-room dial-up internet service but since we didn't bring a laptop, we used the computer (with DSL) in the lobby but limited to 15 min of use at a time.

“A very good deal for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2005

We spent a week at Club Tahoe in July 2005. The 2-bedroom condo is 1,100 sq. ft., a great size for the money. In July, these condos rent for about $1,300 a week. That's less than $200 per night - and these condos are much larger than hotel rooms that cost considerably more.

The condos are showing their age, and there are some quirky problems (for example, the kitchen cabinets are so high a person my height -5'4" could barely reach the bottom shelf), but all-in-all they are a very good value.

The master bedroom is a good size, and the second bedroom is OK too; not as big as the master, but not small, either. The master bath is nice and roomy; the shower for the second bedroom is fairly small, but there's an upper and a lower showerhead in there - a nice touch for children.

These condos are three levels: at the very top is a loft with twin beds accessible by a spiral staircase, the main level (up 6 stairs) has a seating area, dining area and kitchen, and the lower level (down 6 stairs) has the bedrooms and both bathrooms (a bit inconvenient for those using the beds in the loft).

If you need handicapped-accessible facilities, you might want to check to see if there are any one-level condos. We never saw any, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. It's worth a phone call to find out.

“Nice place”

If you are looking for upscale, this isn't the place. But it was very clean and roomy. Master bathroom was small and the 2nd bathroom was tiny. Still too much snow so we couldn't use the pool or tennis courts, but we enjoyed the pool table and raquetball courts. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay.
