The front desk staff are largely apathetic, but whatever. Most of the guests are railroad employees, who stay so frequently that the front desk staff fraternize with them and treat everyone else as inconveniences. They also, incredibly, handwrite every booking. (See the Oak Tree Inn representative's disjointed justification of this, under idaho_angel, submitted in 2007.)
That being said, the place is clean and quiet. There's a fridge and a microwave in (I think) every room, and the non-smoking policy is wonderful. Internet is spotty, even if you're in the room right over the front desk.
