“Full Boycott by Cowboy Poetry Gathering Attendees”

Do not give them a dime of your money as they are now using a bait and switch technique to lure you into low rates and then over charge and mess up credits on card etc. Used to be the spot to stay and gather. No longer. Change in owner and management has made this previously bed bug infested place an even more horrible place. The character it once had and led me to stay here for over 20 years is crushed by the terrible service.

Room Tip: Just don't--

“The worst hotel I've ever stayed in!!”

We stayed one night at Stockmans which was definately one night too long.
It was advertised as 44.50 a night. We were charged 57.50 +tax. The heater did not work. They had put a portable heater in the room. It was a smoking room although there was no ashtrays. There was an ice bucket but no glasses. When my husband got up to take a shower he ran the water for 20 minutes and could still not get any hot water. The plugs in the bathroom did not work. The sheets on the bed were too small and we had only two tiny pillows. The room looked like it hadn't been vaccumed in months. The T.V. was old and had lines through the picture. When we checked out the girl at the desk was on the phone. I waited to talk with her. When she finally got off the phone, I told her our room had no heat, no hot water, the plugs didn't work in the bathroom, there were no ashtrays and no glasses. She said "I'll tell maintenance." and walked away. We will not stay here again. You would be better off sleeping in your car!

“This place is a dump”

I saw the other reviews and ended up staying there to save a few bucks. They adverstised $48 rooms on line. When I pulled up, they charged me $68. I should have stayed at the Super 8. Hot water did not work, carpet was full of stains and burns, the room stunk, and the staff were just marginally helpful. I drank a nice bottle of wine and crashed, and will never return to this place again.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel.

“old but has character”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Located in downtown Elko, this hotel/casino is showing its age. Restaurant food is mediocre. Rooms large. Best assets are the price and the cowboy ambiance which reflects the history and nature of Elko. Our room backed on the elevator and the constant noise, while not loud, was off-putting.

“ouch”

This was a business trip with 4 coworkers arriving at 2:30 pm was told we could not check in till 4:00pm most hotels with group bookings will try to keep every one in the same area. we had one on the south west corner, one on the south center, one on the north west, one on the north center, and one on the east side.ya we had the whole hotel covered . walking in my room i found a fridge on the carpet floor. a carpet floor that needed to be replaced 30 years ago. A bed that Abraham Lincoln would have been upset with. springs that poked up from the what looked like bubble wrap covered with some kind of cover and a sheet that did not fit. Bath room pipes coming up throw the floor looked like if you hit them they would break off . shower omg got in the shower water temp warm soap up go to rinse off water got cold adjusted temp. rinsing off water came from hell never jumped so fast in my life. young lady at front desk was to occupied with her boy friend. And the Bar tender he needs to get out and find a job he can enjoy. my room on the north center is the front of the hotel as you will hear every drunk coming and going and by 5 am every delivery truck will pull up and leave their truck running so don't count on sleeping in .cant speak to much for my co workers other then they have the same thoughts. one told me he has to stand on the side of the toilet because the door to the bath room is in the way .and i will not speak about the bus driver that parked in front at 2:20 other then the hotel have Mr Moe Bandy park it and shut it off . I have lost count of how many hotels I have had to stay in on my job for the most part most hotel i would give a good to excellent rating.but this is the biggest hole on earth. funny how every slot machine looked new. yes its an old hotel but put a crow bar in your back pocket stockmen's

Room Tip: don't get a room on the front
