My husband and I have traveled through the Nebaska Sand Hills on Route 2 from Colorado (hate Interstates) and have stayed here many times on our to Iowa wher his family lives. The people are friendly and helpful, the rooms spotless and comfortable, and the train somehow doesn't bother us. I guess I like the sound of trains-kind of romantic- but do bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. They aren't that loud! We always manage to get the same room looking west at the Sandhills at sunset. Highly recommend this place!

This hotel is located 75yds from a busy coal train track. Trains pass at least every 30 minutes, sometimes more often. If you stay here, remember your ear plugs. Impossible to get a good nights sleep!
