Our travel plans were delayed a day so we needed a place to stay for one night. This was one of several AAA recommendations and turned out to be fine. Rooms were very clean, staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Nice added touch of complementary beverages/cheese in the lobby in the late afternoon. Complementary breakfast in the AM was pretty comprehensive w/ chef-prepared scrambled eggs, bacon, etc.

I travelled to Nebraska this week and stayed at this hotel. I found it to be a very low class establishment and would not recommend it to anyone. Staff was sarcastic and caustic. Landscaping consists of concrete surrounding the building.

When I checked in I was asked for a pet DEPOSIT; when I checked out I was told that was an additional charge and I would not be receiving a refund.

They are in the middle of rennovation, but charge the same price as Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express. The "breaskfast" consists of a roll and one fruit. I was very disappointed with the "country" atmosphere! They also need to rennovate their staff.

I can only guess the previous review was from someone who works at this hotel. Its an original Holiday Inn, but probably hasnt been for 20 years. Ill get to the point:

Pros: Nice clean bar on site, with friendly staff. Didnt eat at the restaraunt, but heard it is quite good. There is a huge outdoor pool, and outdoor bar, so in the summer it could be nice. Everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeper was very friendly. Location is central in Norfolk.

Cons: OLD!! They dont even have electronic locks yet. The rooms were clean enough, but very very outdated. The tv was a 20" model, and reception was not that great. And the pillows, they were lined with a plastic liner. Wireless internet was down, but in fairness they did provide a wired connection that worked well.

Conclusion: I feel bad for the staff, as they work well with what they are given. With a major renovation this could once again be a nice hotel. Until that happens though, there are quite a few other places to stay in Norfolk.

Nice hotel - In Norfolk, NE. We've stayed at a few hotels in Norfolk - and this place was the best. They now have an extended breakfast for all guest. Great Value!!!! The large outdoor heated pool was great for the kids.
