“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I have stayed in this hotel several times and every time they exceed my expectations. The staff is always friendly and efficient and the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The rate is excellent as well. I stay on business and am in several hotels a year and I love it when I can go back to hotels because the service is great.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms.

“Excellent customer service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I stayed in Norfolk after a long day of travel. While doing my quick 2-3 phone calls for rates and accomodations, I called upon New Victorian Inn & Suites. Amanda answered the telephone and offered the answers I was looking for. Yes, they have Internet, pool and breakfast for an incredible low rate. Amanda said, "I have a room close to an entrance for you on the first floor." I was sold! Customer service here is definitely great. Hotel was clean and breakfast was hot. My only complaint was the noisy neighbor and a loud neighbor's shower... otherwise, I will definitely stay here next time I am in town.

“A+ Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Newly remodeled! Quiet. Refrigerator and microwave in room was a great bonus. Good selection of items for the free breakfast. Clean hotel and very friendly staff. Coffee, water and cookies available at all times in the lobby. The price is incredibly reasonable. Will stay here every time we come to Norfolk or the surrounding area!

Room Tip: Non-smoking rooms available. Some rooms have updated digital temperature control units.

“Better than expected!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I just stayed the past 2 nights at the New Victorian Inn with my husband and 1.5 year old. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. The accommodations were meant to be a "crash pad" situation with little thought to more than convenience of location. Being unfamiliar with the area, I read the reviews of the other hotels in town and the New Victorian Inn seemed as competitive as the major chain locations. While budget was not an issue, it was certainly appealing that this hotel was ranking higher than hotels twice the price.

All public and private areas of the hotel were clean and in good repair. I greatly appreciated the like-new condition of all the furnishings and linens in our room and the size of the king room with plenty of room for a toddler to spread out and play.

There was a youth basketball team staying in the hotel while we were there, to be expected there was some noise in the hallways, but it died down by 9pm. The room was quiet and would have afforded for a good night sleep sans fussy toddler.

We did not take advantage of the breakfast as we wished to have a more hearty fare--difficult to find in Norfolk with only one breakfast cafe!

The one disappointment was the pool. While it was clean, a good size, and many kids were having a blast playing in it, it was a bit chilly for a little child such as ours. This was too bad as one of the requirements for choosing a hotel was a heated pool. However, please note, no complaint was made to management as neither my husband nor myself were too thrilled to swim by the end of our hectic days.

Room Tip: I would not care to stay in the Suite at the top of the stairs, I think the traffic in the lobby cou...

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We appreciate that you noticed our furnishings and linens, and the level of cleanliness that we enforce like a "drill sergeant". Our pools are kept at the recommended standard 82-84 degrees, and when we checked we were on the low side, so we have moved up 2 degrees to 84 degrees. Thank you for taking time to tell the world about The New Victorian Inn. Without the national chain exposure, we rely heavily on our guests like you. THANK YOU.

“Good Value, Good Folks, Good Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

For a budget hotel this is a very nice place to stay. They have been slowly remodeling over the past year or so and the rooms are comfortable. They have hot and cold breakfast items and all for a rate that is highly competitive in their market. On top of all that the staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have stayed in motels for twice the money that were not as nice overall. I really don't think you can go wrong here.
