“Comfort in the corn belt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Had a 1 night return to home town and loved the top class accomodations provided. Everything was great but was the little things that put it over the top -- make up removed towelettes, a writing/reading pad for bed, the pool REALLY did have heated water and a great warm "home town" greeting by the staff. Don't know if I'll ever get to travel back again but will stay here for sure!

“Quiet, clean and great breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

We stayed 4 nights while visiting family and had a great stay. The staff selected a very quiet room for us, based on our request but the hotel is quiet overall since it is off the main road. Everything here is spotless, with very comfortable beds, refrigerator, flatscreen TVs and a DVD player in the room. We took advantage of the DVD player having a movie night along with popcorn from the in-room microwave. The breakfast was excellent with both cold options (cereal, pastries, fruit) and hot choices each day (eggs, waffles, bacon etc). There were also warm cookies in the afternoon some days during our visit. Not the least expensive of hotels in town, but certainly one of the nicest. One caution though is hotel taxes in Norfolk are over 16% and we were told this was to pay for the water park under construction in town. Warning to city council: we shortened our visit by one day due to this tax policy - our way of protesting too-high taxes dumped on visitors.

We are glad that you had a great stay and were able to take advantage of the nice amenities that our hotel is proud of. I certainly understand your concern over the tax rate and while it is out of my control, I will be certain to share your input with our Convention and Visitor's Bureau. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future - thanks again for staying with us!

“One night stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

We were in town for a funeral and stayed just one night. The hotel is in a good location, and is very clean. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. They offer a free breakfast that was fair. The staff was very friendly and I would recommend this hotel if staying in Norfolk.

“Okay Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Stayed at this Hampton Inn, and we were disappointed. It is clean, and really needs some updating. The cable television computer was not working correctly, and that presented some flustrations for night for the television veiwers in our party. Will probably stay there again when we go back in September 2012.

Thank you for staying with us recently at the Norfolk Hampton Inn and for taking the time to share your experience following your stay. We sincerely appreciate your patronage to our Hampton Inn, along with your allegiance to Hilton Hotels. I'm sorry that your stay did not exceed your expectations, please accept my sincere apology. We are currently working through our High Definition upgrade with our new 37" flat panel TV's and it has been a little cumbersome. We are near the end of the process and we look forward to offering our guest a seamless, easy to use HD ready content.

We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future - please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your next stay more special. Thanks again for the feedback - have a great day!

“Very Nice Hotel and We Got a Great Deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

We have never stayed at Hampton Inn before as it always seems a little more pricy than the average roadside chain. But now I will definitely consider Hampton Inn as a top choice after our stay here. We were also surprised to be offered a fantastic rate that was 25% percent less than all of the advertised rates in town for the comparable chains. I don't want to rant and rave about everything so I will just say that it was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. We are big on cleanliness, nice beds and bedding, and bathrooms that are immaculate and updated. We didn't take advantage of the pool on this stay so I cannot comment on it. Breakfast was good, and the main gathering area is so much nicer than all of the other chains I have visited. If we ever get back to Norfolk, this is a no brainer for us.

Room Tip: Give the place a call to ensure you have the best rate.
