My wife and I just 'mini-mooned' (short, restful honeymoon) at the Atwood in October and we are already planning our next visit. Ruth and Larry were of great help from getting us in our room to creating the perfect setting for us and giving us tips about great destinations in Lincoln. I have enjoyed B&Bs on three continents and this is one of my favorites. Suggestion for travelers: stay more than one night if you can to enjoy a most relaxing day *and* watch a movie from their current selection in front of a real wood-burning fireplace with all the popcorn, variety of drinks and movie-style candy that your heart desires. You will not be disappointed!

We were here for the week-end for the MSU - Nebraska football game. Atwood House, and it's innkeepers, are amazing. The rooms, the house itself, the beds, the breakfast, al of it makes one of the best bed and breakfast experiences we have ever had!
We were in the Frank Little Suite. It is large, with an extremely comfortable bed, large sitting area, very large bathroom. However, we were not in the room that much.
Ruth and Larry were so welcoming in every respect of our stay. The other reviews for Atwood (the 5 star) say it all. Snacks, breakfast, the whole place in general, make this THE place to stay in Lincoln.

I gasped a bit when I saw the Atwood Inn for the first time. Greek Revival is very impressive. Larry the innkeeper was great, took us on a tour when we got there. Their antiques were fantastic. The Inn was big and beautiful; a huge entrance room, family room, sun room with working juke box, enormous and updated kitchen, with chocolate cake, cookies, drinks, fruit, you name it they've got it. We were updated to the Beal's suite. The bed was the sort that when you get in, you never want to get out. We had the bedroom; a media room; a jacuzzi room; toilet room; and a cute little antique doll room. You can pick a DVD-they have hundreds of them-then pick movie candy (all included in price) and watch in the media room; you can also hear and see some of the movie from the tub. Breakfast was wonderful, started with half a pineapple, and a wonderful cranberry muffin. We wanted to stay longer but also wanted to get home and see the rest of our family. I, though, will be returning to attend a workshop in Lincoln, and I'm very excited to be staying a Larry's place again. Thanks Larry, it was great!

My wife and I went there on our wedding night and it was a delight. The decor is a kind of Victorian meets rural Nebraskan, which can be alternatively charming or kitschy. That's not something that bothered us, necessarily, as kitschy isn't always bad, but some of the decor definitely fits the bill.

Our room was lovely. We were in the Beals Suite which has a gorgeous bed, a nice writing desk, and a large jacuzzi. Breakfast was excellent. There was a delicious strawberry dish served in a large wine glass (my wife and I guessed that it was just sliced strawberries mixed with brown sugar, but whatever it was, it was wonderful) waiting on the table when we came down. We then had an excellent heart-shaped banana muffin and an Atwood Breakfast Tortilla - it was a flour tortilla stuffed with bacon and sausage and cheese, rolled up and then with an egg dish poured on top of it and baked. Fantastic. I highly recommend trying it with the spicy salsa they serve on the side.

Only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star is my own innate conservatism on such matters. This was our first b&b so I don't feel that I know enough about them to feel OK about giving a perfect score. That said, this was fantastic and we plan on going back for our anniversary next summer.
