I got cheapest hotel rate for Lincoln hotels on hotwire and it turned out to be Super 8. When I arrived some chopper guys were talking about visiting the show down the street - bikini clad bronco riders. The Save Mart grocery store cashier had to punch in the credit card numbers - nothing automatic here. Anyway, the hotel room was OK with a nice comfy over-sized rocker and the TV worked and the air conditioner worked. My room was pretty quiet probably because I was at end of 2nd floor hallway. The breakfast might have been OK, but I was looking for hot eggs and I did not see any. I am learning that many hotels don 't require to see your credit card if you booked via hotwire. I don't know what the rule is, but hotels should not assume you will be adding incidentals, (Super 8 - did not ask to see my credit card).

Not a 5 star, but neither was the price. Well located, extra exceptional front desk staff. Found us a crib for our granddaughter who was not on reservation. Breakfast was nice for continental. Above all, staff was wonderful.

We stayed at this Motel for one night and several things were disappointing. First, when we arrived we though it would be a pretty nice place because of the lobby and the breakfast room next to it. We checked in and there was the first experience. Young guy behind the desk that looked like he knew what was going to happen once we got to our room. Our rooms were on the third floor, so the narrow, steep stairs were a hassle to get through. The higher we went the hotter it got and the more it smelled like smoke even though our room was a non-smoking. The Motel layout is extremely confusing because of the angle the rooms are facing.

Once we opened our room door the heat just hit us. It was like we were in a sauna. We turned on the A/C (which is not a bigger, more modern one, it is a small, wall one) all it blew was hot air. It was not something pleasant to be in, so we walked down the hall though the awkward layout to the steep, narrow stairs and to the lobby again to see if our room could be switched. Once we spoke with the front desk guy he switched our room and back to the same ordeal which was still on the third floor. So the A/C was similar but a little better. Mind you, after one hour of the A/C being on at full, the hallway was still cooler than our room!

Black hair on the bathtub floor, hard beds, old pillows (which they were completely out of extra ones) and they did not have any complimentary items like a toothbrush. In other words, HORRIBLE AMENITIES, HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE, UNCOMFORTABLE, AND NOT EASYLY ACCESSIBLE.

We needed a last minute place to stay in Lincoln, NE. My sons were at UNL for wrestling camp. The original accomodations we had booked didn't pan out so we went to the internet to stay someplace nearby and cheap. I didn't expect much except a bed in a box but my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean, it was in a great location near eateries and restaurants, shopping centers. We ate nearby at Corral House buffet and a Vietnamese Restaurant. We also shopped at Super Saver across the street. All walking distance from the hotel. We made friends with the hotel employees the next day while we were eating free continental breakfast. You add all these things and we really enjoyed our stay and most especially the price was right and affordable. We were expecting just a clean room to stay for the night but ended up staying there 3 nights and 4 days.
