I spent Sat/Sun here in late Sep 2011. The only reason I chose this place was because it has in-room hottubs, which I need after long trips because of my lower back.

Saturday: The first thing I noticed was the general filthiness of the common areas (carpets, walls, doors, etc.). The back "security" door did not latch. There was only one ice maker in the entire building. My room was ok, I guess, except it was missing a refrigerator and an ironing board. I was unaware at the time that all rooms were supposed to have refrigerators. The desk clerk on duty didn't answer the phone until the 3rd time I called. She brought me an ironing board 30 minutes after that. The hot tub worked fine.

Sunday: The "hot" breakfast was processed eggs and the little flippy-dippy waffle maker. Pretty worthless. The quiet illegal alien lady was really good at cleaning off the tables, just not so good at removing the trash bag as it overflowed with plastic plates, cups, and entire portions of food that little kids love to waste.

Sunday night: I returned to my room at around 6:30pm and attempted to run the hot tub, but the jets would not turn on. The front desk clerk said she would call her manager to see what to do. She called me back and actually told me (paraphrase), "Sorry, I can't get him to pick up his phone...he's probably passed out watching football." That was it; she was not going to do anything else about the hot tub! So I went down to the front desk and complained in person. I explained that I was only at this motel for the hot tub, and I wanted it fixed or my room comped for the night. The girl tried to call her manager again to no avail. She then brilliantly deduced she could just move me to another hot tub room. Fortunately, it was right next door, so I agreed and began moving my stuff. While I was filling up hot tub #2, I noticed TWO refrigerators in the room. I was tempted to move one back into my old room, but I decided nahhh.

Unfortunately, hot tub #2 did not work at all either. So back to the desk clerk I went, and lo and behold she finally roused her manager. I haggled with him for about 10 minutes on the front desk phone while 2 or 3 guests were checking in, all wondering why I was loudly complaining about the poor maintenance and lousy site management. It was kind of comical. The manager refused to comp my room, though, but he offered a meager adjustment to the price of a non-hot tub room. I then asked for someone to come fix the hot tub, and he laughed and said he doesn't have anyone for that on the weekends. Apparently, weekend guests aren't entitled to the same level of competency as weekday guests (or maybe they are, yikes!)

Anyway, I checked out the next morning and did notice the small adjustment in my last night's rental fee. I filed a complaint with the company the next week. People make the hospitality industry, and these people were bottom-rung.

We have stayed in this motel probably over 10 times in the last 8 years and we will no longer stay here. It used to be a nice place to stay and we could count on it being quiet. That is no longer the case. Heard doors slamming throughout the night. We were looking forward to playing pool and the pool table was broke. When we walked to our room the hallsways wreaked of smoke.....this I don't understand because the rooms down the hallway were all non smoking rooms. Our advice is to drive a little further and go to the AmericInn South...it is great!

This is our 2nd stay at this motel. We like the rooms because they are quiet ! The staff is friendly and the breakfast is great. Well except for the scrambled eggs ! The waffles are good and the sausage and the donuts. Comfy beds. Close to the Interstate but not too close and close to our favorite antique mall , the Aardvark. Dairy Queen is right next door ...they have a great grilled chicken salad. We will stay here again :)

Under New Management and have made lots of changes. All new sheets, clean rooms, very friendly and helpful!!! Very quiet stay for those on the road for buissness. Undated there breakfast with biscuits & gravy, waffles, hard boiled eggs, donuts, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and much more!!!! Has GREAT suites with fireplace and whirlpools!!! Looked at there huge pool area with HOT TUB!!! Nice way to unwind at the end of your work day!!!
