3D2N 4pax Tickets were purchased during a travel fair in Singapore (Nov 2011) for total of SGD376. We decided to travel during Chinese New Year but were unsure if these tickets could be used. Sent hotel and email asking 'Could these tickets be used on 27 Jan 2012?" but the email reply asked me to fill up the reservation form without addressing my question. So I had to phone call the hotel directly to enquire.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite. Rooms were very clean big, good functioning aircon, tall fridge, microwave oven, small kitchen area. We were satisfied. We were also pleasantly surprised that each room had an attached bathroom and the master bedroom had a bath tub.
However, there was water seepage in both bathrooms. The worst was the seepage from the toilet bowl in the common bedroom. We didn't know what water seeped from the bottom of the toilet bowl and hence didn't dare to use it for bowel output. We used those at the club house instead. The master bedroom wash basin and wall corner also had water seepage. Since both rooms had seepage, and since the rest of the suite was clean and nice, we figured that there was no point changing rooms since other rooms would likely have similar problems.
Another problem encountered was extreme loud noise when hot water was used during bath.
There wasn't a 'Do Not Disturb' sign or 'Make Room Up' sign so we couldn't instruct the housekeepers when not to disturb us or otherwise.
4 Water Park tickets were given but we used none of them as the so called 'theme park' is merely a simple playground for children and would derive no fun for adults.
ATV - extremely expensive (RM250 I think for 1hr) compared to the ones in Bintan (SGD70 for 1 vehicle several hours) and Ipoh (RM20 about 15min). And the ATV was only allowed on flat sand - no terrain.
We did JetSki at RM300 for 1hour and it was super fun because the waves were large during our visit.
Firefire cruise: for Singaporeans who drive, I recommend that you purchase the tickets directly from the cruise vendor. The entrance is near the Desaru Fruit Farm. Though the drive into the jetty is unlit, it is a short 3KM distance and pretty safe as long as you drive slowly with good lights.
Do drop by Kota Tinggi Waterfalls, Desaru Fruit Farm and Sungei Renggit (Seafood) if you drive to Desaru!
