“Just Awful...sleep in your car if you have to.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

The internet connection was non-existant, but they kept arguing with me that it worked fine. When I suggested they were swindling me, they offered a two-dollar discount, but only after a bitter struggle.

Mildewy smell never quite dissipated. Pathetic A/C.

I don't think anyone here has ever seen a real hotel .

I would recommend this place to my worst enemy, but normal people should keep driving...anything is better.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience at our hotel. There's only one incident related to the internet that happened in July 7 through July 10 in our hotel involving a discount back to the guest, so I don't know if this is the same one we talked about. I had personally worked with a guest on the morning of July 8 along with my Sales Director and FD clerk. The guest got upset with frontdesk personel because he could not get on the internet with his laptop. I resetted the server and used my laptop to access the internet through the wireless network which same wireless that the guest used. I had no problem accessing the internet. He refused to let us help him with his laptop but still wanted us to give him discount because he could not get on the internet. To please him, we did offer a over 27% discount off his rate, the two dollars he mentioned was just the taxes refunded on the discount. There was a lot of rain in the last couple weeks so yes there is some high level of humidity in our area and if the AC could not keep up therefore there was a fainted smell. We did caulked the room along the AC and window. Thank you for let us know about the problem. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenient it caused you and want you to know that the discount was more than what you wrote.

“Nicer than I thought”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2011

From looking at the outside via Google streets, I didn't' think the place was going to be too nice, but OK, The lobby was very nice, and the rooms were good. It is not the Rio in Vegas, but the price was right, the rooms nice, no problems. Even a free breakfast, with waitresses!

“Pathetic, although no bugs or mice seen!!!!!!”

No maid service. No apologies. When we called desk, they wanted us to bring them the dirty towels to exchange for clean. On a positive note, A/C worked good.

“4 miles from interstate, stinky rooms, bar for locals”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

We stayed here 1 night with our small dog. Booked the room earlier that morning on the telephone directly with the hotel. AAA rate plus $10 for our dog (this hotel charges tax on the pet fee). Arrived around 10:15 p.m. Lobby was okay, inviting. Girls waiting in the lobby to hang out and chat with the girl on duty. Strange local man hanging out at front desk talking to those checking in and roaming the halls (we saw him several times). The front desk attendant was pretty nice.

Went to our room and as soon as we walked in were taken aback by the smell of puke! Very strong. My husband thought maybe it was pet smell from someone else, but after he brought our bags inside, he agreed, definitely puke. Back to the front desk to let her know and she switched us to the room next door which she said was the last pet friendly room they had available. She wasn't apologetic, just went through the motions of a new room assignment.

Checked out the room and got all of our stuff moved inside. This room had a liquid air freshener plug in. It was so strong it was hard to breathe anything else. There was an underlying smell, but with the air freshener made it tolerable. In this room there were stains in the carpet, the TV was ajar from its base, There was no "on" button on the tv, it had fallen out. or something. The furniture in both rooms was very scuffed up, and the walls had scuffs and marks. Our room color was very deep purple-blue. The only plus was the bed. A variety of pillows and soft.

After a long day of driving we did go down to the "tiki bar" [ha, ha, ha should be a crime to put that name on it] to get two drinks. Luckily you can take them back to your room. The very un-tiki tiki bar was a locals watering hole. The kind where all the local boys are getting lit and when travelers walk in you get eyeballed. My drink had dirt in the ice but I just tipped the bartender and left.

Oh, and let us not forget, this exit is dark and remote. You have to drive 4 miles to the hotels and restaurants. From the map it looked like a bigger exit. The pizza delivery guy told us the State Fair competitors were staying there that night too. This hotel has some conference facilities but must be for locals or small events/weddings. Next time, we'd choose a different exit and just keep on driving.
