This hotel is not new, but it has been redone in the last few years. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to sleep and not the swanky granite bathroom exerience, give this place a shot. We have stayed here 3 times over the last 6 years. Most recently 3-27 thru 3-31. There are two floors, the second floor only accessable via stairs. No elevator. Handicap accessable rooms avail. on 1st floor. Indoor pool, will take you ZOOM back to the 1950's/60's. We stayed here back in the 1970's..... Had a ball in the pool when we were little.
:-) The rooms are clean and the beds are pillowtops with good back support. The hardware in the shower is old, but you get a nice hot shower once you figure out the 2 handles turn in opposite directions. They delivered a complimentary copy of the Wall Street Journal under our door the 2nd thru 4th mornings. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant last time we were here. The service was slow and the food was adequate. Can't complain too much though, it was free. Some rooms come with free breakfast and some don't, check the room description. On room cleanliness, we stayed at a 4 star hotel in Vegas last year, and we found dust so thick I could write my name in it, junk on the floor that escaped the vacuum, and used towels in the bathroom. I have never found anything needing cleaning at the Clarion/Wilderness Lodge in Fremont. We will continue to use this hotel whenever we return to visit my grandmother here. My parents have stayed here multiple times also and were the ones who recommended it to my husband and I.
