Upon arriving, we went to our room, which seemed occupied. There were beer cans, unmade bed, etc. I went back to the front desk and after checking a book, the clerk said it should have been cleaned. Then we got a second room, which was ok.
A list of the complaints we have:
Super firm bed
Blinds are not blackout
Blinds don't close all the way and it is possible that someone could look in.
I was staying there with my fiance after I got off work at 115AM, and arrived at 130. By the time I showered and said Hi to my fiance it was 2am. I think we went to bed at 230AM. I picked up the phone to call and ask for a late checkout, but got a busy signal twice. I decided I would just try again when I woke up at a later point in the night. I tried a few more times (bed so uncomfortable I woke up about 4-5 times because I was uncomfortable) to no avail. I had to use my cell phone at 10AM to ask for a late checkout. I wanted 2pm, but they said they charge for anything later than 1PM. I said fine.
Next, they must not have been able to communicate what a late check out means to the cleaning staff, because someone knocked really loudly at 1030AM (EVEN THOUGH THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN WAS ON THE DOOR). Tried to go back to sleep but couldn't.
There were a couple bugs in the bathroom.
There were no cotton swabs
There was no conditioner, only conditioning shampoo.
I know those last two things may not normally be in a two star hotel, but those were the additional things that added on to our experience being really bad.
