“Excellence in every aspect”

I felt a bit like a princess with morning tea/coffee service delivered to my room (with a rose) 30 minutes prior to breakfast. Then to top that, the breakfast was divine. One morning I was served a pineapple cut in half filled with all kinds of fruit, freshly baked apricot scone, fresh squeezed orange juice, brioche stuffed french toast with apple/huckleberry sauce and bacon. Our room had a wonderfully comfortable queen bed with great bedding and lovely antiques. We had a nice private bath with tiny shower. Chris waited on us hand and foot and was a delightful host. I overheard him giving guests a couple of pairs of sunglasses to borrow because he was worried that they were going crosscountry skiing without sunglasses. What a guy! You are offered a glass of wine or beer at 5:00 as well as sherry. That was a fun way to connect with some of the other guests. If you are skiing you can take a shuttle to the mountain if you'd rather save gas or if staying in town, the B&B is only a block away from shopping and great dining choices. For $150 per night I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Whitefish.

I highly recommend this Inn. Awarding five stars is rare for me, even more-so for hotels; however, The Garden Wall Inn earns all of them.

The service is impeccable; the place is warm and cozy; the breakfast is wonderful (as in damn-good-chef wonderful) with fresh juices and breads, wonderful egg dishes, catering to our dietary needs. We left breakfast each morning not sluggish, but energized. And the afternoon hors d'oeuvres were just right.

The claw-foot bathtubs are a wonderful touch, and the wrap around curtains and rain-shower heads with great water pressure make for a great end to a day.

It was my first time booking my family in Whitefish, and I took a chance on The Garden Wall Inn, rather than a larger hotel. I am so glad I did. The place was just right, enough family time in the living room by the fire, and plenty of wonderful short walks to and from town.

Chris and Rhonda are damn good innkeepers. They called in dinner reservations for us, gave us passes to the gym, accommodated us for breakfast, and even left out for us a continental buffet for our very early flight.

I could say more, but, to the point, it's hard to imaging going wrong with this place. Give it a try.

-Mark Smith

I am a little late in submitting this review, but liked the place so much I thought I should still post a review. We stayed in July 2010 and loved this place - it's so picturesque and the breakfasts were first class. The food was better than any breakfast I have had in a fancy hotel, the produce was sourced locally (even the bacon came from somewhere nearby) and everything was delicious. The room was cozy and the bathroom had a claw-foot tub.The B&B is close to the main part of Whitefish (a 5-10 minute walk along leafy streets to restaurants, cafes, shops etc). Whitefish became a favourite place of ours just from the 3 day visit we had and I credit the B&B for much of that. Definitely worth visiting and I would love to go again.

The rooms were lovely, the breakfasts were out-of-this-world delicious and emphasized local/organic food, the location is fantastic and Chris was all you can hope for in a host, and more. His restaurant and sight seeing recommendations were flawless.

“Comfortable rest, great food and great location”

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at the Garden Wall Inn. Chris and Rhonda made us feel very welcome and “at home.” The rooms are very clean and comfortable with private baths. The food was excellent. The location was perfect for our visit to the Whitefish area, easy walking distance from the city center with many restaurants and shops. It is conveniently close to Glacier National Park.
