So this is a review that is a long time coming. My wife and I have stayed here on many occasions. From a weekend couple getaway to taking the family. Either way the Hibernation Station is the best place to stay in West Yellowstone. If you have never been to West Yellowstone allow me to give you some tips as we go 2 to 3 times a year. First off don’t buy into that “we are close to everything” quote. It’s a very small town, everything is close to everything. I have been visiting West Yellowstone my entire life and have stayed at all the major chains, to the small mom and pop places, RV parks to the cabins. We now will not stay any ware else but Hibernation Station. It is like having your own cabin in West Yellowstone. They have a nice hot tub if you want to relax after a day in the park. But most of all you will enjoy the cabin after your day of adventure. It so much nicer than going back to just plain walls. We now only rent the family condo units. Not only does it make it like home but some of them have full kitchens. It’s now a family tradition that My wife and daughter bake cookies on our first night of the trip. Try to do that in a hotel room. They have charcoal barbeque's available through the office. and when you check out i bet you say WOW that guy on trip advisor was right. You may get to rent the unit we rent, but if you ask my kids. Its our cabin. not yours, not Hibernation Stations. It’s ours. So if you want the best experience in West Yellowstone take my advice and save those big chain hotel points you have earned and use them for another destination and Stay at Hibernation Station. One other key point about West Yellowstone. The food is way overpriced they add a resort tax to everything. My wife and I got 2 Patty melts at a place that was nothing special and paid $52 for 2 Patty melts with fries and 2 cokes. I am not a cheap skate but that is robbery. My point is bring your own food and cook it in the full kitchen that some of the family condos have at the Hibernation Station. And trust me on this after a long day of adventure in the park. Nothing looks better than one of those huge log beds with the down comforter to rest you for the next day of doing it all over again. If you are going to the park I have done some other reviews on places in the park that may help as well. Have fun and see you in Yellowstone.
