“Quiet beautiful place!”

We found this place on a whim..............................we loved it. The owners were very kind and made us feel at home. We all sat around a fire pit and the owner brought out smore's for all of us. This place is rustic but clean! The scenery is to die for with a local buffalo that hung around the motel during our stay. I highly recommend this place to stay and the price is right. The owner said they are slowly trying to make upgrades on the rooms. Can't wait to see.

“Basic, neat, comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

Michael Lannon, owner of Greybull Motel, Greybull, Wyoming suggested this place to us. My husband and I had stayed at Greybull the day before and we were so happy with the place that we asked Michael to suggest an affordable hotel for us at Yellowstone. A suggestion I would give about Yellowstone is that if u can, stay at the east entrance, because it is a hell lot cheaper, and quieter. It is a family owned lodge, and the owner was friendly and efficient. We had a quick check in.
The common area in front of the rooms have a great view of the mountains. There is a little stream running just in front of that lodge . The room was of moderate size, with a king bed, a dressing table and a chair. the bathroom could use some renovation. The towels were clean..
The owner had talked about a bar just accross the lodge, and apparently it opened only 3-4 times out of the whole year. We were lucky enough to be there on one of those such days!! There were locals doing a great live band and basic drinks. The great part being there was that, all of them were friendly (my husband and i were the only foreign people there, the others were either family or friends). Coming from India, i had only heard of a cowboy, and when i saw one there i got a picture with him!!

“Will be Back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Our stay at Grizzly Lodge was wonderful. The rooms are not fancy, but comfortable and clean. Most of our time was spent outdoors, exploring Yellowstone and the Beartooths, or relaxing with the beautiful views in front of the rooms. We had 2 rooms, one with a kitchen which had all the utensils needed for cooking. You can also use the grill out in the common area. We have stayed in other accomadations in the Cooke City are, but feel this was the best place yet, and very affordable!

“If you liked Scout Camp you'll love this place!”

We rented 2 rooms (we are a family of 5) and the cost was unbeatable! Don't expect much in the way of fringes-the rooms were dated and the bathrooms were small (no tub-standing shower in 1 bathroom only). We arrived late and my first impression was not great...but we had a comfortable nights stay and the manager was kind enough to leave the roll-away in our room as we'd asked and left our key taped to the front door of the main building as well as leaving our rooms unlocked for our arrival. The next morning when I opened the door to leave I was in awe....The stream running along the lodge was beautiful and the mountain scenes were amazing! There were several small stores and some restaurants. We ate at one just next door for breakfast bf heading into Yellowstone-the food was absolutely delicious. The best part...we were just 3 min. from Yellowstone. We would absolutely stay again!

“This Place is Awesome!”

If you're looking for swank in rural Montana, you shouldn't be in rural Montana. It's a lodge, not the Four Seasons, in a town with the population of about 13. Some of these reviewers need to get over themselves. It's absolutely beautiful, the closest place to Yellowstone you can stay, and the people there are great and very professional. There is a stream running down both sides of the lodge and mountains all around you. The place was clean as a whistle and the nature of the place gives you a real feel for where you are. I would live here if I could.
