“Nice break from standard hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

We spent a couple of nights here while on a motorcycle trip with another couple. This is an interesting place on the outskirts of cute little Red Lodge, MT. Our condo like unit was 2 upstairs bedrooms, one small bath, a kitchen and living room with a fireplace. The staff was really friendly and nice. The unit was clean and nicely decorated and would have been easy to stay in for several days - most of the comforts of home. The downtown district was an easy 20 minute walk which we did a few times. We used the pool which was clean and a quick walk across the parking lot. We were able to park our bikes right outside the front door. It was hot when we were there so we didn't use the fireplace, but it was usable. We would definitely stay here again.

“For a large family, a great fit!”

We were able to get a condo (I think it was # 209) that fit our large family (mom, dad, and 4 teenagers) . Nice that it had 3 bathrooms (only 1 with shower/tub) as it made getting ready in the morning very easy. Kids thought it was a hoot that the hotel's dumpster was visited nightly by bears looking for a late night snack.
Great prices compared to the area chain hotels.
The drawback? Air conditioning. The air conditioner is located in one of the upstairs bedrooms and then is vented to the second bedroom. We followed all of the detailed instructions (keeping doors closed, etc) but the second bedroom never did cool down.

“Served our purposes well”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

We were staying one night in Red Lodge for some hiking and then taking the Highway to Yellowstone. We rented a first floor studio without air conditioning. It was a good value compared to motels and B&Bs in the town.

We were concerned about noise--faces road, pull in parking in front of the unit, another unit upstairs, bed next to the window--but it was quiet with only occasional very low traffic noise that disappeared at night. This area does get hot in the summer--over 90 degrees at times--so I would hesitate to rent during August, but we were more interested in heat, which worked fine.

The unit we got did not have a dining table. Instead it had a counter with high chairs where the TV also sits. The sofa was a futon. The small kitchen was one of best stocked with dishes, pots/pans, and appliances that I have come across in a studio rental condo--no oven though.

Bathroom was tiny with no counter space.

Must drive to center of town or the only grocery.

“Nothing to write home about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2010

We booked over the internet while still in New Zealand and from the photos it looked very modern however it does need some updating. Each unit is individually owned so the furnishings vary in each. We had a 2 bedroom unit on the bottom floor, with a king bed in one room and 2 single beds in the other. The kitchen, lounge area were spacious and had everything you need. With some updating they could be very nice units.

“Wonderful kitchen and very comfortable living areas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2009

We only stayed for one night but will definitely go back again. We had 4 children with us and the pool was the hit. They had it to themselves all night. We stayed in #209 and it was so wonderful. The full kitchen was completely stocked-even a toaster, microwave, and standard sized oven and fridge. The fireplace made it very warm and cozy. The place made us feel like we were in someones home-pictures on the wall and lots of decorating. Not a hotel feeling at all. Great value for the price and the receptionist was very kind. I would recommend this to everyone.
We ate dinner at Bogarts. It was quite disappointing. One would expect Hollywood Glamour with a name like that but the decorating was all American country antiques and old rusty signs on the wall. I guess they are advertising this as a Mexican restaurant but they played hip-hop music, and served pizzas and burgers with the nachos and salsa. The marketing strategy is very confusing. But besides the disfunctional appearance and atmosphere, the food was terrible. We think the burgers and onion rings were right out of a frozen bag, and my daughter believes her mac and cheese was right out of the Kraft box. It was horrible and I would tell everyone to avoid this place.
On the flip side-breakfast at the Red Lodge Cafe was fantastic. We walked in and immediately felt like small town America and right at home. Powdered-sugar-dusted French Toast and Sourdough pancakes were served quickly and with a smile. I can't wait to go back to try their dinner.
