“Historic Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We chanced upon this gem last spring. We were looking for quaint, out of the way places to visit, and this one looked interesting. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found.. We spent 3 nights at the Broadway Hotel. This historic hotel has been lovingly restored as a bed and breakfast. We quickly settled in to a memorable stay in one of the theme rooms that honor the unique history of the area. We particularly enjoyed spending evenings cozied around the fireplace in the sitting area.
The tiny town of Philipsburg has several unique points of interest. Don't miss the huge candy store, or the icecream parlour across the street.
Apologies to Sue for taking so long to write our review.

“hot/cold. cold won”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We have stayed at the Broadway many times, as we live within a few hours and love to visit Philipsburg. We always had a charming, cozy time. Until the last visit. We chose to travel there for my young son's birthday. Just as he was opening his big, exciting present, we were interrupted to be told how to turn out the main lights (we stayed there so often, we knew, but we were not remembered, and the timing was very, very thoughtless. Just walked up and started talking, not even an apology for interrupting, or waiting for a few minutes). The objects chosen to decorate the walls in our room were perfect and endearing, except that they were covered in dust. We were so disappointed by this last visit, it ruined our other, better experiences there and we won't stay again. Also, I was always bothered by the way too strong smell from the detergent on the sheets. Others weren't bothered by it, but it drove me crazy, and I got in the habit of bringing my own pillow case to use.
One last thing, if you are looking for peace and quiet, this isn't it either. The wood floors and door gaps let you hear everything outside your room very clearly. This didn't bother me, but it might bother some, especially if you like to sleep in a bit, as you can definitely hear breakfast time from about every room in the hotel.

Hi: I am sorry your last experience at the hotel was not a good one. If I had realized some of your concerns at the time I would have really tried to remedy the problems you were experiencing. Please accept my apologies for a weekend that was not up to your expectations.

Sincerely,
Sue.

“The perfect getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

The Broadway Hotel is the perfect getaway in any season. A group of ladies stayed for a winter weekend retreat and felt so welcome and comfy. We stayed in the charming Brittania room, tastefully decorated with a variety of maritime antiques. Our room faced the Main St. and was sunny with wonderful views of the mountains. We had a "living area" with satellite TV and a cozy futon couch. Each morning coffee was ready and we enjoyed a variety of yummy breakfast items in the warm and inviting lounge. Hot tea or cider was available in the kitchen all day, and a snack table was a welcome treat outside our room (peanuts, small chocolates, and goldfish, yum). The hotel owner, Sue, was so friendly and helpful, we wanted to invite her along with us on our adventures in and around town! When we asked about cross country skiing she brought us all the info on the local trails. We will definitely be back!

“Best ever hotel ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

If you are tired of main stream hotels, if you are looking for something different, if hospitality means something to you, you HAVE to stay at the Broadway Hotel in Philipsburg, Montana. It is worth the detour -make it part of your plan- Sue is a wonderful host, the hotel is cozy All rooms are different with a lot of spirit.
Only problem is that in writing this review I will probably make by next booking more difficult!!!!!

“What an amazing place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

We stayed in two rooms at The Broadway Hotel and couldn't believe how much character it has. We were disappointed that our stay was only for one night. The lounge is charming, cosy and welcoming. The rooms are unique are fun, the beds are unbelievably comfy, and breakfast was delicious. Sue is a charming character herself - you can see her touch in the hotel. Philipsburg itself is well worth a visit - even if just for this hotel and the enormous old-fashioned candy store nearby. This visit was one of the highlights of our trip.
