“Good times on the Riv”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Was here with some girlfriends for a weekend, room was standard but the view was beautiful! Request a room on the river, it really makes the hotel stay great, they have little patios that you can sit out on that are just steps away from the river. Lots of bath room counter space, enough for 3 girls! The pool was small but it was clean and refreshing, good place to hang out and have some drinks. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful, got extra cookies for our trip home. The restaurant on the property Finn & Porter is very very good!

“Great Location; still excellent after 40 years”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I stayed at the Doubletree Edgewater in September of 2011. I was there the summer that the hotel opened. It was a well run and welcoming place then; not much has changed. The decor could use some updating but the room was well maintained and the view of the Clark Fork---incredible. Forty years ago, the dining room at the Edgewater was one of the places to be seen; celebrities seemed to wander into the bar and restaurant--the ambience laid to rest that Missoula was out or up on the edge of no where. I'm retired out of the hospitality industry--this hotel and food service operation has always been that special place...well worth returning to.

Room Tip: Reserve early; try for a river side room over looking the clark fork. Well worth the extra price.

“Couldn't have been nicer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

From checkin to checkout - the staff was very helpful and pleasant - everyone we encountered! The site was a perfect location for us and we were so glad that we had choses a room with a river view! After dining in several local restaraunts we were so glad we enjoyed our last meal in the hotel dining room. It was such an enjoyable, relaxing evening with our family! The perfect last hurrah to our week in Montana!

Room Tip: go for the river view!

“You won't regret staying here!”

For the past 6 years, we have stayed in this hotel when we visit Missoula each summer. We were last for 2 weeks in July 2011. Hands down it’s has the best choice. With their location, view & clean facilities – you can’t go wrong! We always get a room on the river; the view in itself is worth the money. Leave the windows open at night for the cool mountain breeze & tranquil sound of the river. There are two sections of the hotel w/river views as the hotel was added onto years ago. The originally section of the hotel has more private balcony’s whereas the newer section you can pretty much see anyone on their balcony on either side, above and below. I’d say they are smaller too. The smaller balcony is offset by the room the room is bigger on the newer wing. Large & comfy bed, clean & spacious bathrooms, space to live in & great closets. Same amenities are offered in the originally wing but maybe loose a few sq feet. Bathroom has private shower/sink/toilet and then outside of the bathroom there is another sink/counter to which provide extra much appreciate room for us girls that take time to get ready! =) Many times we’d have friends come over to have a class of wine on the balcony before heading out. Finn & Porter is the restaurant located in the hotel, lovely selection and wonderful happy hour menu/prices. Full menu is nice as well. It has a really fun bar atmosphere. They have a breakfast brunch, which is good but overpriced. They need to have a separate bfast menu instead. Not everyone can stomach the $28 (cannot remember exact price) per person. We didn't have breakfast there everyday so I’m not sure if the brunch is only on the wknd.

Location is prime. It's a short walk to downtown Missoula and to the University of Montana campus.

The outdoor pool (there is no indoor pool, boo hoo for winter months) is not near the river but closer to the parking lot and has rooms overlooking the pool. Has both pool & hot tub. Workout room next to pool area (inside). Is a nice facility, a lil smaller but if you can't find a workout outdoors in Missoula, there's an issues! It’s carefully maintained which is nice as many hotels neglect this. Obviously the pool is not why people come to Missoula. My only complaint w/the hotel is there are TONS of locals come in to use the pool, as there is no security swipe to prevent this from happening. I’m not assuming that many of these people were not guests. I talked to a few in the pool and they told me that they come here all the time. It’s frustrating as a paying customer that people can just walk in. I’d assume people may have already said something to the management about it over the years but I haven’t seen any changes. I hope that when we return next year, it’s taken care of!

Room Tip: Request a room w/a river view if you can!!
