“Wonderful”

Goldsmith's B&B afforded a slice of history to savor while staying in a well appointed accomodation. A friend and I met in Missoula and shared the 3rd floor suit. We both appreciate staying in a place that has the energy of care that comes with a family owned business rather than a commercial hotel. Our breakfast overlooking the river was delicious. Thanks go to Meg for our care, and to the Goldsmiths for caring enough 20 years ago to save this house from demolition. I would certainly go back!

Very satisfying stay at Goldsmith's. Jesse's breakfasts and attention to personal needs was outstanding.

Room Tip: Check to be sure the other guests are aware of standard B&B protocol so they don't wake you...

“Riverside Location with Charm”

Goldsmith's B&B was convenient, comfortable and charming. Our room had a beautiful riverside view with a private porch. We were able to walk to the University of Montana as well as downtown. With the friendly atmosphere and delicious breakfast omelets and fresh fruit, we will definitely stay again next time we are in Missoula.

“Not what we expected!”

The reviews sounded okay, so we decided to spend our 2nd night in Missoula at Goldsmith's since The Gibson Mansion only had availability for us for one night. Talk about 2 extremes! We went from pure luxury at The Gibson to "anything but" at Goldsmith's. Had we known, we'd have taken a motel room, saved a lot of money, and had a much nicer room! We paid only $10 less than at The Gibson and it wasn't worth anywhere near the $154 with tax that we paid! Breakfast was good, not a lot of it, but with what I'd consider a $60 room, that made for a really expensive breakfast. It sits right next to a bike shop and businesses, so we were a little hesitant about leaving our car there all night, although it was okay. I certainly would not stay in the Bear Grass Suite and I don't know what the other rooms were like. You can tell the owners don't live "on-site" as there's no pride in the upkeep! Personally, if you can't afford The Gibson Mansion, take a motel.

At Goldsmith's Bed and Breakfast we constantly strive to provide a memorable travel experience for our guests. It is clear that the guest that wrote this negative review had some serious problems with their experience at Goldsmith's but unfortunately they did not mention any specific problems with their room or their breakfast. Had they contacted me at the time of their stay I would have made every effort to satisfy their needs. This guest did not enjoy the Beargrass Suite but I do not know specifically what was wrong so I do not know how to rectify the situation. We take guest comments personally and we respond immediately to complaints. Contrary to what this reviewer states I DO TAKE pride of ownership in our property which is a landmark 1911 craftsman home. It is impossible to survive in small business if an owner does NOT show pride of ownership. We are inspected annually by AAA and have received a 3 Diamond rating for the last 18 years. That puts us in the same category as the Doubletree Hotel and the Hilton Garden Inn which are 2 of the finest lodging properties in Missoula. I am truly sorry that this guest did not enjoy their stay with us.

“Delicious breakfast in a lovely house that is right on the river”

My wife and I stopped here after 10 days camping and working on the east side of the Rocky Mountains. We were exhausted and needed to recharge. Goldsmith's was perfect. The rooms were immaculately clean and very comfortable. The proprietor could not have been more friendly and welcoming. And the breakfast was divine. We left fully recharged after a couple of nights there. We loved Missoula and when we go back, we are sure to stay here again. It is conveniently located right on the river and adjacent to the bike paths that you can take throughout the city. You can even rent a bike next door at Big Sky Bikes! I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when we go back.
