Traveling with my 9-y-o son for a camping trip in Yellowstone. Wanted a night of warmth and luxury before 3 nights in a tent.
Hotel is an 100-year-timewrap, but with modern luxuries and clean rooms. For my son, it was his first visit to a historic hotel property and I tried to give him a picture of how American's vacationed a century before. You know what would top it off, if the staff dressed in 19th century attire.
Upgraded at check in to a 2 room suite which gave us a nice parlor and kitchenette to enjoy. This is always a nice option when traveling with younger children who go to bed earlier.
The elevator is a problem, it can only be run by hotel staff, we used it to take our bags up, it was quaint, but we used the stairs to walk down for dinner (adjacent on the ground floor) and back up, it wasn't an issue going to the 4th floor for us.
Parked on the street, locked up gear to keep honest people honest, but wasn't overly concerned about security.
I would recommend and will use again on our next trip to America's Greatest National Park.
