We went to Libby on our way to Heron and booked for The Sandman motel. It's on older place but not bad for the price. We had 2 rooms and paid $144 for a single and double room. Breakfast is nothing special, just some waffles and pancakes from the supermarket which could be toasted. Coffee, no tea, milk and juice. Would I recommend this hotel? No idea, I don't know any other person from Holland who's crazy enough to come to Libby so I don't need to answer the question:-).

We spent 8 nights at the motel and rode our bikes all over the beautiful Montana countryside. Libby is nestled in a valley and surrounded by scenic mountains. The Sandman motel is conveniently located for shopping, eating, etc. If you're looking for a place that's comfortable (the beds are great), quiet, in a good location, and truly impeccably clean, you'll really enjoy staying at the Sandman. How refreshing to not have any grunge in the room. There are no frills but, in our case, none needed. There's a free continental breakfast that we didn't take advantage of, an ice machine that actually makes pentiful larger chunks of ice that don't immediately melt in your glass, and every morning at 5:30 a.m. the coffee is ready. In the rear of the motel are BBQ grills (once again, clean) and picnic tables. Everything we needed for a perfect vacation. Definitely the cleanest place we've ever stayed. The hands-on managers stay on top of everything.

Room was adequate, but nothing special. Nothing but a bar of soap, no shampoo or lotion. Advertised as a HUGE breakfast, but it was only a couple of pre-fozen waffles & pancakes that you had to heat up, and some orange drink - NOT real orange juice, and some bread for toast. NO meat items or even boiled eggs. All this served in their tiny lobby which measured only about 5' x 8'. No place to sit.
If you're just looking for a quick in & out on the highway, this place has it, but for a few dollars more you could stay at one of the other couple of low-cost chain motels that have a pool and/or hot tub. Good if you have a dog you want to travel with.

AAA rating, and assurance of IMPECCABLY clean rooms brought us to this motel...our room was bare bones, sheets so thin I could see through them and the floor in the bathroom and kitchenette area was filthy... Very disappointing
