I have stayed at lots of Best Westerns over the years and have had decent customer service, this is the exception. I called and made a reservation, gave them my visa card number and then called and cancelled. They charged me anyway, even though I had cancelled days before. When I called to cancel I did not receive a cancellation number and thought nothing of it, that is right up until I got the bill in the mail. I immediately called and spoke to the general manager and made her aware of the situation and her response was "it is hotel policy, with out a cancellation number there is nothing I can do". Really? I have booked and cancelled lots of hotel rooms and never have I then had to quote a cancellation number. I'm pretty sure that the clerk who took the cancellation was busy and just didn't enter it into the computer system. Now I get to go through the VISA process for an unauthorized charge and spend hours of my life trying to rectify the situation. I'm going to be sure to never stay at a Best Western again and tell everyone I know about this issue. Poor customer service, but atleast she had a nice voice.
