“Keep On Driving”

Smell in room was more than unpleasant. Bathroon fan made more noise than a rock cruncher. Room chair was ripped - looked like it was picked up curbside - would not sell at a garage sale. Bed was comfortable. Front desk was helpful. Had to sign agreement that we would not smoke in rooms or have pets in room - after being in room I understand why agreement was necessary. Don't stay here!

“We will never stay at Comfort Inn again.”

Glendive, Montana Comfort Inn is deteriorating, dirty, and way overpriced. There are few higher end hotels available in this part of the country. The hotel was 100 percent full the night we stayed. Perhaps having a captive audience makes the hotel management sit on their laurels. The staff was extremely unprofessional in manner and dress. The lobby consists of a couch and computer desk with computer stuffed in a little corner. The pool water looked quite murky. We chose not to go near it. The non-smoking room was at one end of the hall, with smoking rooms at the other end. This made for a very smelly hallway. All of our clothes reeked when we left the hotel. We had to clean the bathroom floor ourselves as it was visibly dirty. The spartan dining area was small and cramped, with few offerings (2 cereal choices: Fruit Loops and Raisin Bran). If we had paid 1 star hotel prices, we might have been more understanding. However, having paid 3-4 star prices made us expect more. If you must spend the night in far eastern Montana, try the Days Inn next door. It at least appears newer on the outside.

“Hotel: OK...Customer Service: The Pits”

Comfort Inn advertises that a reservation is held till 7am. I arrived at 2am and was told my reservation was cancelled (when she closed the books a 1/2 hour eartlier) as a 'No Show'. I pointed out the room hold till 7am but seh insisted she could not honor the reservation. I said "Fine, forget the reservation, lll just take that room (a suite)". She said "Its no longer available". So I said OK just give me a regular room. She did at the rack rate. I said at least you could honor the on-line rate. She said she couldn't. I said I would speak to the manager in the morning. When I talked to the manager in the morning her first response was "So what do you want me to do about it". So I repeated, "At least you could give me the rate that was promised to me even tho I have a lesser room". She said no such rate existed so I had to go get my laptop, log into the Choice hotel site and show her the rate. She then let me at least have that rate.
Other than that, the room was OK. Overall clean tho it could have used a little detailing in the corners. Not many choices in this town so if they ever changed staff it would get a recommend.

“Place needs update and repair”

As a former resident of Glendive and knowing all the motels in the area, this is as good as it gets in town. If you can't stay in Miles City or Dickinson, The Comfort Inn will do for one night. The rooms and hallway are worn and in need of deep cleaning. The staff are poorly trained. The pool and coffee area are average.

“Previous reviews misleading”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2009

A much better stay than expected after reading previous reviews. Talked to a customer service rep at a call center who knew the location and highly recommended it. This was a good place - convenient location off the interstate but easy to get into town, quiet, good beds & pillows, clean, nice breakfast, adequate pool. Will stay again the next few years while taking kids back and forth to college.
