“Below average and just an ok overnight stay.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2010 via mobile

I didn't have any problems at this lodging and the one night we stayed there was below average. I cringed when I saw the next door store. Overall it was kinda ok, but next night I'm moving across the street to Kelly Inn. Motel6 doesn't have free WiFi or shampoo at all. I'd rather pay a bit more and get all this and breakfast included.

“NOPE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

There are 2 Motel 6's here. NEITHER is worth it- stayed in one going west and the other coming back. Seemed very dangerous. Hotel had no shampoo?? She looked at my partially bald head and asked if I really needed it... WOW! Then she giggled and said she had lots of lotion but no shampoo and directed me to where I could buy some?? Really? Also the internet is pathetic- you buy a $3 card, but once you use it on a computer you can't use it for any other computer (it logs the computer IP). 3 people with laptops and only 1 can be used? I would pass.

“YUCK!!!”

One reviewer wrote, "you get what you pay for" and that is the truth. But seriously? This place was awful. I think we got less than we paid for. There are two Motel 6's in Billings, but they are right across the street from each other. The one we stayed in should have been the better one, a re-done Red Roof Inn. I picked it because the rooms are inside rather than outside-facing. However, we weren't sure what exactly was re-done about this place...the walls were very thin; we could hear everything, including babies crying and water running. Linens old, carpet gross!

See the picture...the one across the street is conveniently located next door to the "Adult Store."

“Close to the highway but by an industrial park?!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2010

We had our GPS point us the way to this motel because it was not the easiest to get to off of the highway. For one, there were 2 Motel 6's almost across the street from one another. When we went to the Motel 6 that we had planned to go to, we asked about the other location, and were told that it had just been acquired from Red Roof Inns. The other location apparently had an indoor pool which made the cost a little more.

We ended up staying at this location and it was busy! There was a lineup of people right to the door to check in.

The room with 2 double beds was quite small, with one bed touching the wall and the other one touching the air conditioning/heating unit. We got a ground floor room with a fridge/microwave which was nice. The TV was a little old, but tolerable. The rooms on the ground floor were very "motel-like" so when a car pulled into a spot the headlights shined into the room.

One major downside was that the location was in an industrial park. I personally don't like hotels/motels that are away from the main city streets, but there were other hotels there so I guess it was ok.

Overall, it was decent for a good price.

“Never tell your customers you don't want their business”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2009

If just one person or family takes this review to heart and goes up the street to the Ramada or Holiday Inn instead, then this review will be worth it. It would be even better if the Motel 6 Business Office sees this, and conducts an internal investigation into the lackluster performance of one of their motels...and hopefully terminates the entire staff of this motel.

Like many of you, I never had a problem with Motel 6. In fact, I had stayed at this particular one in Billings, MT, some years ago.

On this latest trip, I made our reservations online for five people...myself, my mom, and my three nephews.

Make a note of that number...5 people in my party. It will figure prominently in my dissection of this "motel", and why you need to stay somewhere else.

We get to Billings, make our way to the motel, and proceed to check in. I confirm to the front desk lackey that I made online reservations, that there are five people in our party, and we'd like as large a room as possible.

Unbeknownst to me, this particular Motel 6 didn't start it's life as one...it was an acquisition from some years ago. You only get one size of room...too small for any party over two. Well, we're tired and hungry, so we get our room key, unload all of our stuff, and immediately discover (aside from the room being too small), the toilet doesn't work.

I go down to the front desk to complain that the room is too small for five people, the toilet's backed up, and what happened to our large room?

The front desk's response?

"If we had we known there were five people in your group, we would never have taken your reservation in the first place."

They were told NO LESS THAN THREE TIMES the size of our party, yet they had the gall to say, "If we had known..."? I've worked in customer service for many years...the one thing you DO NOT tell a customer is that you don't want their business.

They never even addressed the toilet issue, basically telling us that it was too bad for us, and we could suffer without it.

I immediately cancelled my next few online Motel 6 reservations, and booked our remaining stays at Ramada Inns across the country.

It's been over a year, and I am still waiting for my refund. It will be cold day in Hell before I ever stay at the Billings Motel 6 again.

I would highly recommend that if you're considering staying at a motel in or around Billings, spend a little more money on one of the other motels, like Ramada, or Holiday Inn, or Best Western...anything but Motel 6. They don't want your business.
