“Charming, cozy, and beautifully grounds, this B&B feels like a warm hug.”

We stayed at the Candlewycke for three nights at the beginning of a long road trip, and we could not have found a better spot. Megan was the best host, and went out of her way to take care of our needs, including driving in to town before we got there to try and help us arrange for bikes to rent in Bigfork.

The Inn is situated about a 10 minute drive from charming Bigfork, and nestled at the end of a quiet country road amongst gorgeous trees and active wildlife. A friend had originally recommended we stay in town, but we were so glad to be out of the middle of things and to have such a warm retreat. We went for a run one morning in the neighborhood and really enjoyed all the surrounding homes, countryside and remote feel.

We stayed in the Country Heaven room, which was super private, clean, and lovely. I don't know how it's possible, but that bed felt bigger and more comfy than our Cal King at home. It was so wonderfully dark and quiet at night, both outside and in our room (we finally got a chance to use the constellation-spotting app on my iPad)!

Each morning, we awoke to the most delicious and indulgently elaborate breakfasts that set our days off properly - smoothies, souffle, Croque Madame - but all with Megan's special touches. She is a fabulous cook who really took meticulous care in her presentation.

All in all, a dream stay and I hope we get to go back there soon!

This inn is outside of town in a country setting with deer visiting every day. Really a beautiful setting and the owner is very helpful with local restaurant suggestions and will also prepare evening meal, if you want. Breakfasts were unique and delicious. Very comfortable rooms. Loved it all!

We stayed here in late August following a trip to Glacier Nat'l Park.
The rooms were spacious and clean, the decor warm and inviting, and the breakfasts were unbelievably delicious. We felt as if we had dined in a gourmet restaurant. Megan was very helpful in providing advice on things to see and do! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This was a great location, very peaceful and quiet. I traveled with adult family members and we had the wilderness rooms which shared a bathroom. It was a perfect set up on one wing of the Inn. The breakfast was outstanding!

“Loved our quiet, cozy B&B in Big Fork!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

We spent 3 nights in Big Fork with our twins and recommend the Candlewycke B & B. We had a lovely, spacious room right across the hall from our kids, and Megan - our Innkeeper -- gave us a comfortable folding bed (much more comfy than an old-fashioned cot), so our kids wouldn't have to sleep together. Our bed was huge and very comfortable, too. We also had our own family bathroom. The breakfasts were amazing, innovative, and very filling. On two of the days we ate so much at breakfast that we ended up not needing any lunch. The house was very quiet at night even though there were several guests, and the accommodations were extremely clean. Megan left chocolates on our pillows upon arrival -- always a treat -- and we were only a few miles from the downtown area. She also made a special effort to meet our food and drink needs (decaf coffee, smaller meals for the kids, etc.). Our kids enjoyed playing with Olivia, the cat. The only drawbacks here are that you're not walking distance to town (if that's important), and breakfast is served promptly at 8:30am, so if you like to sleep late, you'll miss breakfast. We might have preferred a more open-ended schedule with a buffet breakfast because we got in late each night of our stay and could have used the extra sleep.Speaking of sleep - a minor point - I prefer window shades that darken the room completely. Ours were very thin, so a lot of light came into the room in the morning. Despite these minor complaints, I highly recommend this B & B. The innkeeper was incredibly helpful with lots of suggestions of things to do and places to go. Check out Big Fork, and be sure to go to the musical theater during the summer. It was a ton of fun!
