“AMAZING!!!”

The food is always wonderful, and the staff is always cheery. The heated swimming pool and the game room are always fun. Arts&Crafts is always fun for the little ones. The horses are fun and friendly and they are easy to get attached to. Loved roasting the marshmallows, using the volleyball court, riding bikes, doing water sports, jumping off of the dock, caring for the horses, watching the kids rodeo and barrel races. The wranglers are incredibly helpful. The cabins are very nice and spacey, with room for everyone. My family and I have been coming here for the past 2 decades. Always entertained and pleased, returning to so many familiar faces.

“There is no place like .....the Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

I have had the wonderful opportunity to visit Averill Flathead Lake Lodge a few times. It is hard to put into words how special and memorable the week long experience is here. Staff is very friendly and always accommodating your needs. The fun part is a majority of the staff is from all over the US, so you always find interesting conversations or meet someone from back home. The lodge also does a great job with introduces the guests and getting them to mingle. By the end of the week you feel like one big family! However, what stole my heart were the scenery and activities. Every day and night there is something to do from smores, to steak fry in the elk farm, to riding horses, doing activities on the lake, fishing, dancing, volleyball, bike riding, hiking, white water rafting, shopping in the unique town, and being part of the penning experience. You become one with the lodge as if you have lived the western life your entire life. Nothing is off limits, because they make you feel like the lodge is your home. And nothing is more spectacular then watching the sunset over the beautiful lake. You can be sitting on the dock, at the pool, on the grass, or tucked away on a chair. The view is one of a kind. Last but not least I cannot forget to mention the food. Every meal has plenty of options and tastes delicious. They graciously accommodated allergies, and food preference (fish fry night I asked for chicken).

There is no place like the lodge, because it is like home. I look forward to the day I can go back. My heart ached for a few days after I left because it was so hard to not wake up to crystal clean air and see a lake outside my window. If you need a family vacation, a solo getaway, or a western experience the lodge is the place to go.

“It was heaven...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

What a wonderful place . So much to do at the lodge its self..horseback riding, sailing & water sports on the lake, tennis, biking, hiking & more. You can keep yourself busy with the lodge schedule of activities & events or just simply do your own thing. Excursions are available for fishing, white water rafting, zip lining, tours of Glacier National Park & more. All for additional costs but book through the lodge for a reasonable price. Individual cabin or lodge room accommodations..awesome. Food is excellent..meals provided 3 times a day with snacks in between. Staff is very helpful & friendly. You will not be disappointed with your stay. It's so beautiful & such a wonderful vacation away from life's busy schedule.

“Best kept secret in Western Montana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

I've been going to Flathead Lake Lodge in Big Fork Montana for over 20 years and i can not get enough of it. If you have never been to the Big Sky State and want the best experience Montana has to offer, you need to stay at the Averill's Lodge. It's the best family friendly experience you'll ever have. Check out their web page. www.flatheadlakelodge.com Thanks, Marty

“Awesome Family Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2010

We stayed for a week with our two daughters - 4 and 7. The setting is fantastic, rivaled only by the personal service of the staff. WIthin an hour of arrival, our 7 year-old had found another 7-year old and headed for the barn. These two were unseparable the entire week and keep in contact still - nearly six months later. It was her first time on a horse alone and the "wranglers" did a great job with an introductory lesson and then throughout the week. I had planned on going on the ride with her the first day, but felt totally comfortable sending on her way in care of the wranglers. The food was also fantastic -- much better than one might expect at a dude ranch. We were concerned about our 4 year-old having enough to do (since you must be 6 to ride horses), but there was plenty to keep her entertained. She was able to be lead around the arena on a very gentle horse, but the daily Arts & Crafts was her favorite. We will definitely be returning for another week at this fabulous place.
