“Awesome Cabins”

What a wonderful honeymoon! We stayed in cabin 5. We couldn't exactly ski right off the front porch, but the slopes were only a couple of cabins away. The views of the Spanish peaks were fantastic. The cabin was well furnished, and came with everything we needed for our stay including coffee, a washer/dryer, and down comforters. We have rented cabins before, but this was the first time we had ever had housekeeping. They even washed our dirty dishes!
The skiing wan't very good due to early seson conditions. The staff at Moonlight Basin wasn't very knowledgeable about which runs were groomed and or open, which led to me almost getting hit by a grooming machine and having to hike back up a run. Other than that, we had a great time.
I would definitely recommend renting your skis from the bottom of the mountain where the prices were 15dollars as opposed to 35-40 dollars at the resort. The Timbers is great for a gourmet dinner, and you cannot stay in Big Sky without eating at Bucks! The bison was excellent.
Another highlight was snowmobiling through Yellowstone, even though Old Faithful is not nearly as impressive in the winter.

“Wonderful experience!”

The cabins are a great place to stay for a small group. We had two couples and an infant and there was plenty of space in the comfortable cabins. The best thing is that some of the cabins are 20 feet from the slopes and have a beautiful view of Lone Peak and the surrounding Gallatin valley. The lodge is just down the hill and our cabin had a hot tub on the front porch; great for watching the sunset and drinking wine after skiing!!!

Fantastic views and the most incredible ski in / ski out cabin that I have seen in any ski area. They are small, but exstreamly charming. You can't go wrong.

“Hard to leave this place!!!!”

I was in a group of three families staying at the Snowcrest and the Moonlight cabins. This place had all the attributes that I love of Beavercreek/Vail and Deer Valley. Much better feel and view. Instead of old condos from the 60's thrown here and there it's all beautiful lodges everywhere. High end Log cabin heaven and that's just fine with us. The attitude here is laid back and classy. Even the little Hungry Moose grocery store reminds me of growing up as a child going to the local grocer and finding marvelous things in the little shelves. I lost my husband in a corner looking and finding obscure "Cabs" (wine) in open boxes. Fly fishing-horseback riding walking the trails of the ski resort-mountain biking and enjoying a wonderful gourmet meal and then going out to the fire and having smores for desert at the Rainbow Lodge was recommended. Excluding Rainbow and it's worth it you'll be amazed at how well you can eat for under $100 for 4. I'd give any little place a try- it's all good-we had our best luck at little cabins and diners. Skiing looks great too. Wide open bowl skiing at the top like Squaw and BC-glades and plenty of groomed for cruisers. Give it a try....Great Family vacation location!!!!!
