My husband and I were moving into Springfield and booked in to stay here because of it's very cheap weekly rates. Do not be fooled - it looks ok from the outside and it does have a nice pool...but otherwise this place is dark, smelly, the carpets look like they should be ripped up and like you would catch a disease. The room we were to have was spacious and tidy appearing clean but was very dark. It's laid out so everyone has security cards - looks like a VERY tired hotel that once may have been nice. Now it is full of shady looking characters and has a tavern in the actual complex too which no doubt draws more shady characters.
We found 'Value Place' further south which was the same price in a MUCH newer nicer building - far more pleasant... also does weekly rates but includes a kitchenette in the price. We were so impressed we went straight there and got out of this lodge. BEST move we ever made, I shudder to think of that Budget Lodge and having to live there for a few weeks. Not a pleasant environment at all. And since we've talked to locals they all say to stay away from the North side of SPringfield as accommodation up there is notoriously not good.

I have been placed at extended stay type of hotels often on business; I am used to "low end" and "older" hotels. Translation: uncomfortable beds, staff with poor English and low service, and dirty rooms. NOT HERE.
This hotel is the ONLY PLACE I will EVER stay at in Springfield again. For the price, it is by far the cleanest rooms I have ever been in. The indoor and outdoor pools are immaculate. The Serta mattresses they use put me to sleep faster than my own home. The curtains really do keep out the light. Best of all the air conditioning is temperature controlled and not a roaring wall unit.
YES, the hallways are worn out. Yes, it's an older hotel. But the rooms have been renovated, the staff are so helpful, and they will match and beat any low price of any hotel in town. I love it.

Roaches, ants and water dripping from the bathroom ceiling, i wouldn't get near the place again...

First, the rooms where hot do to there air conditioning not running, very uncomfortable to sleep in. Throughout the hotel smelled damp and musty and I trip on the up rooted carpet. The maid serves was awful, they only collected tows and trash they did not make the beds or vacuum. The outdoor pool was nice however, there were a lot of rules which made it unpleasant to be out side in the heat and not allowed to have a drink at pool side. the ice machine was all ways out of ice. There were vagrants there (pay by the week type of people ) that thought that they owed the place and kept rudely telling us what we could and could not do
