Very supprised that this is still in the Holiday Inn chain. This hotel is old and outdated:
On the negative side:
Toothpaste hanging off the wall in the bathroom
The handle for the shower fell off in my hands as I turned it on.
The shower head sprayed in every direction but straight out.
On the first floor it is very noisy: The door slamming at 2:00am was unbelieveably noisy, and the walls have to be paper thin. I could hear what the people in the room above me were saying.
Breakfast was a disappointment. Only 7 tables, and a very limited list of items on the buffet.
The comforter was not as it is at other HI Express locations.
On the positive side:
Older A/C controls means none of the front desk "controlled" PTAC units that you will find in newer hotels, so the AC will actually cool to the temp you set it.
Flat Panel TV's
I don't want people to believe that this is a judgmental review, but my overall experience of other Holiday Inn Express locations has been much better as I am Gold with HI Express. I won't come back, even if this was a points night. I am shocked that Holiday Inn allows this hotel to be a part of it's chain. I have stayed at a Best Western and can note it as being a better value then this Holiday Inn.
The Drury Inn across the road is brand new, and after only one night at the HI Express, I checked out and went over to the Drury. For being only $10 more at the Drury, I slept the entire night and the staff at the Drury seem to care about making sure that the exprerience is pleasent.
Room Tip: Stay at the Brand New Drury and be able to wake up refreshed.
