I'm sad to report that the website for this Bed and Breakfast is full of deceptions. The barn may have been charming once upon a time but that fairy tale has ended. The 'Gift Shop' is empty. There was a few forlorn dusty egg noodle packages for sale & blurry pictures taken from what appears to be from inside a car of local Amish people and dusty cassette tapes. I was told they were going to remodel at some point and decided not to restock. Right. And the 'Tea Room' was barren and cold! They have ply wood walls, no paint, mixed furniture and a table of old Christmas decorations set up garage sale style on one side. The 'shimmering' pond was almost not recognizable due to the fact that its green color was the same as the grass...and the bridge was not accessible or safe. The 'Restaurant' isn't operating either so don't expect to order off any menu. They keep this stuff on the website to lure you in. It worked on us. What a sham! To top it off she had us pay months ahead IN FULL despite what her policy on the website. Coffee maker was from ancient times and the coffee was old in an old butter tub and no creamer or sugar. After she was made breakfast (not enough food for our party and it was all canned or mix items. we left hungry!) we saw that her Food and Health Certificate expired MONTHS AGO. Great. Eat that one up. So, needless to say...DO NOT STAY HERE! Light fixtures were missing bulbs, jet tub in honeymoon sweet hold 100 gallons but the water heater only stores 50 gallons so don't bother. But we were told we could use it if we got cold because that room does not have a heater so we could fill up the tub and get heat from that to warm the room. Right again. Also, they have air-conditioning window units and no side gutters on the roof so all night it rained and just pinged. Fun times! The laundry facility is well worn and the towels are peak-a-boo see through. The owners are not on premises anymore. They are also confidently going to also be remodeling the basement where they lived...but it is really due to mold issues. One person in our party got extremely sick over the mold. You can smell that the minute the door opens. So don't expect assistance until breakfast if needed. I could go on and on. Move on people. Move on.
