“Great rooms, so homely, great experience”

Stayed here for just 1 night, but I've always like the residence experience. Great kitchen, coffee, etc, means that you can feel at home. Location is okay, but they offer a free shuttle bus taking you most places you want to go.

All in all, I enjoyed my stay and spent a lot of time in my room working. Free fast WiFi is included and is very much appreciated.

“New Years 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Great experience. The hotel shuttle took us to the Fieldhouse bar 3 miles away free of charge. Excellent perk of staying here.

“Very nice room, great location with a view of downtown.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

The highlight was the room was pretty nice and clean. The view was fantastic and you could see the Arch. The front desk seemed to be staffed with teenagers and unfortunately they give Marriott /Residence Inn a bad name. The girls did not have a official uniform or badge and may have been hired part time. But either ways , Marriott needs to make sure they have well trained staff at the desk who have a customers/travelers satisfaction mindset and not behave as if they are doing a favor to the visiting travelers. Room wise, the alarm clock gave us a siren sharp buzzing sound welcome as we entered the room. Also, the TV in the bedroom was not working, and had a static white screen that would not go away until we unplugged it from the power before it finally worked. Even then, many of the channels did not work. Funny enough we had the same white screen problem as the TV started by itself again in the middle of night with a static white screen.

Other than that, the hotel was fantastic with nice comfortable rooms with an excellent kitchen / breakfast area staff led by a very kind hearted woman(Angie) who really knew how to welcome the guests and was very warm as she spoke to various folks and cleaned the tables with a smile.

“Very Pleased!”

I was somewhat concerned when people talked it being in an industrial area and surrounded by a fence. The fence is rod iron and it does not feel like it is in an industrial area. It is right off the interstate and it is very easy and quick to drive downtown. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and loved it. Their parking charge is $10 a day. It covers up to 4 cars for your room. That is very generous and convenient for friends meeting from different areas of the country like we did. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was not the greatest for me, but everyone else in my group had no complaints. There is a grocery store a mile and a half away and the front desk has a sheet with directions. Breakfast was very good. I always enjoy the fresh made waffles. They also had scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, fruit, yogurt, various breads, milk, juice. These are the items I noticed. There were probably more. The room was very quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

“They are more than accommodating!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Top notch Staff! From the people who clean your room to the desk staff to the dining / breakfast staff - everyone was lovely! The first room we were in had a pull out for my daughter who was only in the room a few nights due to being in Children's hospital for most of our time there, I have to say avoid the pull outs! The matters was lumpy and thin - not comfortable at all. We asked for a room upgrade and they had the space so they gave us a two bed suite at no additional charge! The pull out bed was the only issue during our stay!
Food is really very good and many choices for your free breakfast!
A few nights a week - Monday - Wednesday there is a free dinner - we were only able to get to it on BBQ night but let me tell you the pulled pork was amazing! If you drink they offer three free beers or wine drinks per person during the free dinner time.
We had asked for a fan for my daughter who was getting over heated due to recovering from surgery and they obliged happily.
If you need anything from directions to local places to extra blankets they are happy to help.
They will also go grocery shopping for you!! No added in fees for this either - you only pay what the items cost in the store.
If you or someone you are with are in the hospital they offer discounted rates! Be sure to ask if you are there for a medical reason!
Angie was always there in the morning to welcome us and make us feel comfortable during breakfast - clearing our plates for us, even offering to make us waffles! Which is good for me since I always manage to mess up my waffles and make a mess lol.
The cleaning people were so friendly and warm which is nice as in most places the cleaners rarely seem happy to do their jobs.
The parking lot is secured at night and even the security staff was friendly.
We did not go to the bar as we do not drink but the bar seemed nice and there is ample seating from the dining / breakfast area to the bar.
We needed to print something out and there was an office area for guest to use.
Nice pool with hot tub and work out area also a small basketball court!
Coffee was available most all day and night in the dining area for free as well as tea and honey although sometimes that would run out but you can ask for more from one of the dining area staff as long as they are there so plan ahead if you are a tea drinker!
The hotel itself is only about 5 minutes from the hotel and many local attractions and they offer a free shuttle anywhere within I think it was 3 miles but we did not need to use it.
There is a gas station / mini mart place only a block away.
I noticed some of the previous reviews mentioned construction but there was none going on while we were there and we felt very safe the entire time.
I can't say anything really negative about this place other than their pull out beds which they really need to update but as I said they understood my daughter needed a comfortable bed due to spinal surgery and they were happy to correct the situation.

Room Tip: Go for two beds over having a pull out! Some rooms have balconies so you could request one if you...
