my boyfriend and I went on our first trip together last september n stayed at th hampton inn. We arrived almost 3 hours b4 our check n time n got our room right away. Check in was smooth. Order some food from the irish pub(overpriced but good) then crashed for a few hrs b4 heading out for our first night on the town. On our way out they told us there had been some cmplications with ou credit card and thy needed to see it again. We went out n on our return we gave the card back n thy somehow didn't see tht card had been charged...double charging it. Long story short HUGE hassel for first evening. Up until 3 n the mrning with redit card company's and front desk tryin to edit charges( we where paying cash for the room n tol them tht to begin with). Things got resolved thanx to the great and patient front desk women melissa!!! She workd through my attitude n our frustrations (I had almost been up fr 24 hrs. Drove n from ne indiana) with a calming and apologetic tone. We went down for breakfast n to pay cash for the room n found te for our problems the night b4 we got a night free!!!!! We were staying 4 nights so it gve us extra money to play with. The hotel is directy to the right off the highway over the bridge u would miss it if u weren't ready for it. Which we liked because we didn't have to navigate through an unknow city for our hotel.geting into the parking garage is kinda a squeeze...wewere in a cadillac. The breakfast was WONDERFUL. It was very important for us to find a hotel tht offered the hot breakfast and it was very impressive.it was the best way to start everyday of our vaction. Variety was great. Was very impressed with bisquets and gravy on Sunday morning!!!!! And the waffle bar made perfect waffles.Grabbed some muffins n apples for the room n they eded up practicaly saving my life at the zoo on one of the100 degree days. Glade I packd em for snacks! The weather was the hottest time of the 2011 summer (just my luck) record breaking 104 degree temps. The ac workd great in the room it was nice n crisp in the afternoons when we returned to the room to escape from the heat . The room was nice. Basic. clean.VERY comfterble bed. Had some extra pillows brought to the room n they smelled a lil bit dingy. View wasn't spectacular but cool at nigh cuz of the football stadium lights. Staff was SOOO nice. Every single staff member says hello like they actually care! My dad bought a cardinals fan bucket frm the hotel for us. Bf and now me is a huge cardinals fan!bar had good atmosphere. Very quiet , relaxing during day still relaxing...not so quiet at night had outside guitar player. Snack bar was good for late nigh snacking and pool and hot tub was nice also. Good photography skills on the pics for the pool area..there r some highway signs outside the window tht tey have celverly hid with good photo skills. Never had nemore probles with hotel or money. Had an awseomw trip n I am so happy with makin the choice to stay at the hampton inn at the arch location was perfect walking distance to just about everything!!!!!!!! N somthing tht topped off our trip was the cardinals crazy comeback from bn 10 games back( like they were when we saw them ) to winning the world series!!!!!!!!

Hampton Inns are usually nice, so I choose this one, great choice... A few short blocks for attractions, and Restaurants, Stores.etc Irish Pub on site was such a convenience, gotta try the brownies n Ice cream, food was good too. Hotel lobby and common areas Nicely Decorated.. Rooms~ nothing ultra fancy, but clean & quite comfy, and the t.v. gets more than 5 channels lol. Wall of Windows provided awesome view of the surrounding area, nice touch.. Complimentary Breakfast~Great! ~~ Business ctn and Indoor pool, awesome.... All in all, I would most definitively stay here again...

“Nice View of the Arch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I stayed here for 1 night to go to a hockey game at the arena in downtown St. Louis. The hotel was within walking distance of the Arch as well as the light rail station. It was nice to be able to park our car at the hotel and walk everywhere that we wanted to go within downtown St. Louis.

The room was pretty standard for a Hampton Inn & very much comparable to other hotels in this price range. The view of the Arch is what really set our room apart from other hotels and I have provided a photo to show you what I am talking about The continental breakfast was a standard Hampton Inn continental breakfast and was as popular as ever the morning that we were leaving.

If I could not find a better deal in downtown St. Louis than I would probably stay here again. Otherwise, I might try out another hotel just to see what else is out there in downtown St. Louis.

Room Tip: You will be pleased with a room that has a view of the Arch

“Depends on what you compare it to”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I've realized long ago that there isn't too much difference between a well-run mid-range hotel in the $50 range, and your Hiltons and Sheratons for $200 a night.

Compared to the latter, this was a good value for $75 a night +$12 parking. Room was clean, decent bed... even a proper feather pillow (at least two of the four). Pool, small fitness area, free wi-fi and even a computer room in the lobby... it's all there. And a staff that genuinely aims to please.

But the real selling point is the breakfast, and we were of two minds about this. My wife wasn't too thrilled with it, because compared to the breakfast in any ordinary mid-grade European hotel, well there's just no comparison. Basically it's your typical Hampton Inn chain breakfast, which also makes cameo appearances at Hawthorne Inn and some of the really nicer Days Inns around the country... fruit, make-your-own waffles, eggs which are sometimes powdered, a meat dish or perhaps biscuits and gravy... you know the drill if you've stayed in one of these places.

On the other hand, if you compare this ample breakfast with what you get in a typical American hotel, Hampton is infinitely better, because in most American hotels you get nothing.

So this was a MUCH better value than any of the high end chains. But next time, I'm wondering if it's better to pay $50 or $60 for a mid-range hotel where you'll get the same bed, same sterile room, and go out for breakfast.

“RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We stayed here and went to the Lumiere Casino, walked the Landing, went to the Arch, and the Edwards Jones Dome for a game. The rooms are big, have a fridge, and a microwave, ( for your leftovers from the landing). You cannot get a SUV into the parking garage, (I know) it has a 6-0 clearance. Deffinetly staying here again

Room Tip: You have to pay to park, but that is anywhere you stay downtown
