I stay at the Crown Plaza every trip to Saint Louis, it is a unique hotel converted from one tower of a three tower condominium complex. It sits directly across from the Memorial Gateway Arch. Most of the rooms have a great view of the arch, lots of the rooms have a balcony that you can view the Missippi river and Arch. If you dont happen to get the best view, there is a swimming pool on the roof and an observation area that provide a great panoramic view.

The hotel itself is great...the staff are extremely courteous and the room what great. The bathroom is a bit cramped (i.e. the location of the tub and the toilet with respects to each other) and there were a couple of rusty cracks in the ceiling of the bathroom...but nothing to make you cringe...:-) Apparently only certain rooms come with microwaves but all come with mini-fridges....:/ The parking is a nightmare...the signage is not clear so as much as they were sharing the parking space with the adjacent residence it was difficult to find a parking space close to the hotel. The parking structure is dark, musty and one can easily get lost in there if you not used to parking in similar structures. Also, the escalator going from the first floor to the second did not work the entire time we were there.

I'll break it down for simplicity: Price/value - When ever I go on line and make my reservations, this property (almost) always comes up among the lowest cost per night (among Holiday Inn properties) and offers bonus points at very reasonable rates. Location - What else can you say about the view (UNBEATABLE), highway access and easy, covered (and secure!) parking. Experience - The staff at the Crowne really are 'second to none'! Always helpful and happy to be of service when needed. The chef's creations are undoubtably the best that I've found in any full service hotel in the area (I travel to St.Louis monthly and have stayed in 8 different properties in the area). I can't say enough about the quality, consistency and dependability that I find with each return trip!

Great staff that helped coordinate a last-minute dinner for a group of thirty (when the hotel was booked with many large groups attending an areawide atheletic event). The dinner worked out beautifully! The parents were greatly appreciative of the fact that the hotel was able to get seat us together in the restaurant. We really enjoyed the convenience of having the dinner right at the hotel after a long day of activities. The food was wonderful, and the parents could not believe how large the servings were for the price. Kudos to the entire staff!
