“Hotel From Hell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Asked for a room with a view of the arch. Went to room and the view was spectacular, but the room was not cleaned from the previous occupants. Called the desk and they said they would send a cleaning team up immediately. We had reservations for the restraint on the roof and said we would be back after dinner. An hour forty five minutes later we returned to the same room to find it had not been touched. The furniture was so stained it was horrible. Called front desk and they were very apologetic and asked us to come down for a new room assignment. They gave us one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel on the first floor with a spectacular view again. When we walked into the room it was very nice, but extremely cold. Wall thermometer said 56. So I cranked up the heat and while waiting for the room to heat we could feel the wind blowing in from the sliding glass doors - it was really cold and that air was really flowing in. We thought - no problem the heat will kick on and it will get comfortable. Forty minutes later the thermometer had not moved one degree. Call front desk, keep in mind it's now 10:55 pm and we are tired. Front desk asked if we would like a space heater, we said no, but a couple of blankets would be nice. We waited and waited and waited an one hour and ten minutes later a single light blanket was delivered by a cleaning lady. The place is dirty, the cleaning staff does not appear to be present and they darn sure don't clean worth a dram. Went to breakfast, compliments of the hotel for our troubles and the food was great, staff excellent, but again dirt on the floor everywhere. It was really sad. The primary staff seems genuinely concerned for wanting to do a good job, but it appears that management and especially upper management and investors do not care to make the improvements needed to keep this potentially magnificent motel to standards it should be kept. Heck they are not keeping it to even minimally acceptable standards.

Room Tip: Go go the Drury Inn or Adams Mark just one block east.

“Made my wife cry on our wedding day”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We had reservations, and when we arrived – late at night on our wedding day, with an early flight the next morning – we were told that they were overbooked and they didn't have a room for us. My wife cried. I pleaded. It was hopeless. This is by far the single worst hotel experience I have ever experienced, and I hope that nobody has to feel the frustration that my wife and I felt that night.

Room Tip: Stay far, far away! Worst hotel ever.

“Perfect hotel if you're in town for a Cardinals game but not much for anything else!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We were in town to see a Cardinals game so we wanted a hotel that was close to the ballpark and this hotel is only 2 short blocks from the ballpark. If you are in town to see a game the hotel would be OK but that's about the only reason why I would stay here.
The rooms were very dirty. There were cobwebs in the corner of our room. The shower had hair in the bathtub. And the beds were extremely uncomfortable. With two people in the bed you would both roll to the middle. The second night I slept on the floor which I was not comfortable with because the carpet was dirty.
I called down to the front desk to get a couple more blankets since I was going to be sleeping on the floor and they sent me up two curtains. I'm not sure how you can confuse a curtain for a blanket but that is what we got.
You could definitely find a better hotel in the area for a similar price so don't stay here!!!!!!

“Terrible hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We will not ever stay in this hotel again. The room was hot & stuffy the whole time we were there, it's like the air wouldn't work. The shams looked like someone peed on it. No microwave or frig. The room was really small, barely enough room to even get around. The bath tub looked really dirty. It was a cheap room downtown and now I see why.

Room Tip: We will find a different hotel the next time we come to town.

“Cannot beat these prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

This hotel is the cheapest in the downtown area usually. We will be staying here for the second time in Feb. it is not as the hotels photos would lead you to believe but was clean and the staff was friendly. The first time we stayed was in the summer and we paid $78 a night, this time we will be paying $58 a night. Obviously you get what you pay for, the hotel is in need of some cosmetic work but the staff is friendly and helpful. And being a group of all girls we felt very safe here. We are looking forward to going back. If you are looking for something extremely upscale you are going to pay that price and should look else where. We are a group of college kids just looking for a cheap and safe place to stay while visiting. I would recommend this to other groups or people just looking for a good deal, or quick stay.

Room Tip: It seems like there maybe two different sets of rooms. The cheaper, not renovated rooms and the newe...
