I stayed at the Pear Tree Inn two seperate times in November 2011. Both times were a pleasurable experience. The hotel was easy to find from the interstate. The location is great for access to all areas of downtown St. Louis. Since I drove, I especially appreciated the free parking.
The check-in process was quick and easy. The front desk staff went out of their way to assist me in any way I needed. It is a bit of a walk from the hotel to the parking garage, so if you have a lot of luggage, you should probably unload first and then park.
The room was clean and comfortable. Some of the extras I loved were the free long distance and local phone calls, the free (hot) breakfast, and the free reception every evening. At the reception, they had snacks, beer, wine, and soft drinks. The breakfast had the usual fare. Everything I ate was fresh and tasty.
The first time I stayed here because I could not find vacancy at any other downtown hotels. That caused me to be a little concerned, but I found out that this was probably because it is part of Drury Inns. Drury Hotels are not a national chain. They have hotels in 20 states. The second time, I stayed here because of how much I liked it. I will return to the Pear Tree the next time I have business in St. Louis.
