“A Weekend of Culture At The Westin - St. Louis MO”
We Planned A Weekend of Culture, Using The Westin In St. Louis As Our Base,
& We Were Not Disappointed : )
We Requested An Early Arrival (10 AM), Non-Smoking, Top Floor Room Overlooking The City, Gateway Arch, & Cardinal's Stadium - & We Got It All For A Real Good Seniors Winter Rate of $109 A Night.
The Hotel Was Contemporary, Understated Bahaus-Style, In Every Way It Felt Intimate, With Lovely, Soothing, Decorator Details Like A Lobby Fireplace, Live Orchids, & Cozy Sitting Areas.
Our Room Was Quiet, Larger Than Most (495 Square Feet), With Some Nice Unique Touches, Tall Ceilings, Big Windows, & An Enormous Marble Bathroom With A Big Separate Glassed In Shower + A Big Deep Bathtub.
The Westin's Breakfast Buffet Was Expansive (I Particularly LOVED The Fresh Blueberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, & Strawberries + Their Prepared-To-Order Eggs Benedict) Although It Was Expensive ($16 pp).
The Westin's Valet Parking Was Surprisingly Prompt, Also Expensive ($27 A Day - With In & Out Priviledges - Which We Definitely Utilized To The Max), But Well Worth It Considering The $20 Self Park, Both in A Secure Parking Lot, Would Have Been Too Much of A 1+City Block Walk (& Effort) For Me.
For Those Without a Vehicle - A St. Louis "Metro-Link" Light Rail System Stop Sets Right Outside The Westin. It Can Whisk You To Near Virtually Any Major Attraction In The St. Louis Area (North/South/East/ or West), At Very Little Cost.
The Staff Was Always Pleasant & Accomodating To Our Special Needs & Requests.
They Even Phoned Us A Week After Our Stay To Ask Us About The 2-Little Glitches We Did Experience.
As A Former Cruise Director On Some of The World's Highest-Rated Cruise Lines, I Feel That I'm More Aware Than Most About the Inner Workings of The Travel/Hospitality Industry.
The Westin Was Easy To Reach From All of St. Louis' Major Attractions. It Was A Short Drive To Our 2-Entertainment Venues: Broadway Star Patti LuPone's One-Woman Concert @ The "Sheldon Concert Hall" In Grand Center, & (Via Fast Interstate) Stephen Sondheim's Exquisite Production of "Sunday In The Park With George" At The "St. Louis Repertory Theatre" @ Webster University In Webster Groves (In St. Louis' West County).
All In All It Was A Wonderful Weekend : )!!!
Room Tip: Ask & You Shall Receive : )
