My children and I were in town to stay a couple of nights with my husband who traveled to St. Joseph's to work. We had stayed here twice before and were very happy. However, this stay was the worst hotel stay I have had anywhere. It started out with finding a roach in the tub when we got into our room (Room 172 for those who are interested in knowing). I decided not to make a stink because it was only one. As a result of this one roach, we took precautions - not putting anything on the floor, keeping our things out of the bathroom, and keeping the light in the bathroom on (thinking that might keep any other ones from coming out). Our room was warm so I went to turn some cool air on - I put the unit on cool and turned it down to cool. The unit was extremely old, and the inside of the unit had thick dirt and dust in it. In the mean time, we went to get something to eat. By the time we got back to the hotel it was almost 9:30 pm - the room wasn't any cooler than when we left. We decided not to make a big deal of things as it was cooler than the pool area. We all slept without any covers and we were still plenty warm. The next night, around 2 am, I got up to use the restroom (again, we had left the bathroom light on) and when I came back into the room, I could see several roaches on the kitchenette area. I killed a couple more - those that I could before they scurried away. Now I was up the rest of the night, thinking about only roaches and were they getting into our luggage and things - was I going to take a few visitors home with me. I fell back asleep around 5 am or so only to get up with my husband at 5:30 am so that he could go to work. After telling my husband about the roaches I had seen in the night, I noticed a baby one crawling on the tile and then I showed him the baby ones I was seeing crawling on the tile and carpet - I woke the kids up and we left as soon as my husband had to leave for work - I had planned on staying until the 11:00 check out so that my kids could spend an hour or so in the pool before leaving, but after seeing the roaches crawling all over, we just packed up and left. We also had trouble with the bathroom faucet - it was not working properly and we had to finagle it around to get the water temperature right. We did tell the front desk about the problem and they did comp our room; however, we won't be back after this experience. I have never stayed in a hotel and found roaches in my room- I hope they do something about it. The carpet in the room was very worn, dirty and looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed good - matter of fact, the whole hotel appeared this way.
Room Tip: I would recommend not staying here.
