I travel for business with a co-worker and booked a hotel via hotwire.com. I was excited because this establishment had good reviews from tripadvisor and from priceline.com. In fact, I was looking forward to my stay.
We arrived at the hotel, looking forward to have a good rest so we can meet up with clients tomorrow. The A/C was not working. I talked to the staff about the A/C that was not working and requested for a room change. We went over to different rooms and all the ACs were not working. After much probing, the staff slipped about how long this establishment has been having this AC problem. Yes. They have been having AC problem since at least April.
I called hotwire.com to talk to a representative who agreed to refund me some $11 hotwire dollars and help me look for another establishment. This was sometime after 10:30 p.m. And at a critical point in time (after the representative had taken down my credit card info and other information required to book a room), I lost cell-phone connection. I called back and was connected to a different hotwire representative, who won't honor my request because it was after 11 p.m.
This is unethical business practice. No, I will not recommend this hotel to a friend.
As far as hotwire.com, I trusted this company to at least provide a reputable, decent accomodation. No, I wasn't expecting a 5-star hotel. All I ask for is a clean bed and functioning A/C so I have a good night sleep and be 100% ready when I have to meet with clients. I am sorely disappointed with Country Inn and Hotwire. I do not recommend either.
